Ok, I was playing a game with me mates (hehe, mates...) a few days back. I drop my good old 12 oz in, and I hear a little gas escaping, after locating it, I decided I would play with it. Sure. I get home, I dissasemble my gun, clean her out, and remeber the problem. Btw, its a stock Model 98 Custom, soon to have my parts come in the mail today. Now, I put my 20oz in my gun, in the garage. I see C02 coming out of the barrel. The Tippmann site says that this is caused by a valve... Last night I took the valve out of the powertube, and tried to dissasemble it. I couldn't get that wee little thingie, that stops that brass thing from stabing my eye out... I used the Model98 site posted here, are there any other fixes? I have found putting oil through my ASA valve (alot of it, like 15 drops) does the trick for a little while, but any less does nothing... What do I do!

It is a damaged o-ring or cup seal. Follow those instructions carefully- it's the best way to explain how to open it. If you can't get it, get an entirely new valve from Tippmann or http://www.chasepb.com - http://www.chasepb.com

You can also order just the parts from those when you get it opened.

Thanks. I guess I will have to blow 30 bucks... Roar! Sadly I got it from Skirmish in PA, and I told the guy the serial number... I have had the gun for a year and the serial is 3 years old! Darn! Bye bye warrenty!

you dont need a whole new valve if just one part is broken. it sounds like your plunger cup seal is bad. so just call and ask for a new valve plunger, and maybe an o-ring if the valve seat oring is bad too.

I can barely bust her open... I agree with you guys, but I have a way of screwing things up... I found a valve at my favorite proshop EVER for 36... I know it's 30 from Tippmann, but shipping would hurt. So when I place my next order I guess I'll grab me one... Thanks guys, I thought it might have been me needing to run a little extra oil or somthing like that...

Three years old? It was probably used as a rental and received horrible maintenance, which is why those parts in the valve are damaged. It would be cheaper if you could figure out how to open the old one, but buying a whole new one would be easier.
