TippmannBallerX- Thats why I love my Ford F250 Turbo Diseal because it has a solid front axle. Dont have any pic to post right now, maybe later.
636Andy, I mud in mine all the time and its about the same size. The key is a good set of aggresive tires. Diseal is next to impossible to stop. Infact I have become the tractor for my friends. If they get stuck and no one else can pull them out (because their in to deep or to far from dry ground) they call me because I have never not been able to get out of a mud hole and can pull them out from where ever. I got one call at 2am after working all day to find one of my friends had drove through a mud puddle that turned out to be the side of a lake, the water was literly up to his seats and he has 38's with a 5 inch lift in an '81 Chevy. No one else could pull him out because he was so far in you had to be in the mud to tow him.
Well needless to say he owed me a car wash and shine but is saved him a totaled truck or a wrecker bill.
Huck
P.S. what do you think a H1 military Humvee weights after you add armor from michine gun rounds and mount a weapon such as a tow missle (a wire guided missile launcher) or machine gun to the top? They aint that short either, but I have seen them climb near verticle walls.

Amen to that brother!!
Nothing like muddin on a warm night down south of the Mason Dixion line. YOu drive the truck till it gets lodged real good in the mud and then you sit on the tailgate and start on a 6 pack of your favorite beverage and then figure out how to get out of the hole. Then pull out the sleeping bags and sleep in the cab if you have a huge 4 door truck like my F250 or you sleep in the bed to make sure you sleep off the "excitement" and dont get a DUI. Wake up on Saturday morning and go hunting (since if your like me your already on you hunting property and dont have far to go from your stand or turkey hunt (counts on the time of year)
Do it again that night and be in a church pew by 10am Sunday.
Thats a Good Weekend!
Thank GOD I was born in the South!

hey those are no 26" rims. i dont know the specs on it, but i would say that those rims are no larger than 20 inches. and no i would never put anything close dubs on my mud truck. say if i had 40" tires, the biggest rim id put on there would be about 19 or 18". 15s would be too small for daily driving and turning on pavement at normal driving speed. i wouldnt exactly call a Chevy Silverado an american ricer either. im pretty sure that truck isnt worth 150 grand either.

I do agree with that, but if you got the money what else you gonna do with it. You can't take it into the next life, might as well enjoy youth while you have it. I dont have that much invested in my truck but I bought it because it will last many a hundred thousand miles (a 100,000 miles is just breaking a diseal in) of hard driving and still be there for me in 20 years.

the longer the truck and the wheelbase the better the truck will climb hills. and the key to mud is tires spin. and the wider the tires the better traction in the mud. If you had 35" tires you would want about 13" wheels (not rims wheels rims ar those snap on plastic things u buy at wal-mart)

It sounds like half of you have never been off raoding in your life...Now I know a thing or two about 4 wheeling. There is no "Best 4x4" they all serve there purposes. The "Best 4x4s" are going to be the homeade rigs. The ones that they use something like a toyota frame with a ranger cab w/ a 454 and rockwell 2.5 ton axles sittin on 39.5's. You cannot buy the best 4x4 you make one. Ive got a buddy that crawls at Moab, Telico, etc and his rig will go way more places than any mentioned here. I would know because ive seen it, ive seen him climb straight up rock walls. But ive also seen him roll it.
How often you see a guy try to turn donuts with a Toyota with a 502 with 2 and a half tons and 44s. He flipped that SOB so fast it was hoillarios. Right in my buddies front yard and left it there on its side for 3 days. Thats why my motto is "Give 'em Hell!!!!!!!!!"

Oh yeah! I had a 79 CJ7 with the V8 and the "granny" 1st gear. The only mods were off-road tires and Detroit Lockers front and rear. It would go anywhere.
Edited note: I've driven the military HMMWVs. They spend to much time in the shop for my taste.

Yep, half the jeeps i see at jambories. They arent really jeeps anymore cept for the shape and body style... Everything else is swaped out. Tires, suspension, tranmition, body lift, lockers, LSD. All sorts of neat stuff.

the longer the truck and the wheelbase the better the truck will climb hills. and the key to mud is tires spin. and the wider the tires the better traction in the mud. If you had 35" tires you would want about 13" wheels (not rims wheels rims ar those snap on plastic things u buy at wal-mart)
