That's because you mostly saw tournaments. They are usually playing for
money and/or prizes, and paying alot more to play. Surrender would be
pointless. As for if there is. Depends on the field. Some fields have a mandatory 10 foot surrender rule. Where I play they have mandatory 10 feet in all groups except the advanced group. Adanced plays bunkering. ------------- Que pasa?

What you saw. Getting shot from really close. Shooting someone when they don't see you. I can't really explain it good. All it is is shooting someone from close like on paintball videos. ------------- Que pasa?

If you shoot someone in the back, that means that they would never saw you, therefore they wouldn't surrender

| At the field i play people do it out of courtesy. It isn't a "real" speedball field though. Kind of makeshift you could call it. Not to many people do it though they all bunker. It's better that way i think. |

The place that I play at allows you get as close as you want if someone
is in a bunker, or something like one, and you don't even have to offer
surrender, otherwise you have to at 15 feet.

JMac got it. The videos you were watching was tournaments. In tournaments there is no 10ft rule. Your allowed to hot someone from as close as you want. Your just not allowed to unload on them or you'll get a penelty for overkill. Bunkering is just what was just mentioned. Its charging up to somone hiding in a bunker and shooting them from really close range. -------------

I think the problem is the whole surrender issue.
To me, just because I get the drop on someone and think they SHOULD surrender, doesn't mean they HAVE TO! Surrender is always an option, unless a barrel tag takes place. A barrel tag means you are dead in my world, and you need to get your sorry butt off the field. Barrel tags are very "final"...you get barrel tagged, you are eliminated, no questions asked. Also, if you do get barrel tagged, you should actually thank the person that barrel tagged you for showing respect and not shooting you. As for surrender, just because someone tells you to surrender doesn't mean you are eliminated. They are OFFERING a surrender because they have you in a compromised position, and if you do something stupid and don't take the surrender, you should be lit up proper-like. But, you still have the option of being a Rambo and shooting it out with them....remember they're just offering a surrender. That doesn't mean anything is over. That's where a lot of people get pissed....they offer someone a surrender and the dude turns around and dumps on them! They should have either (a)expected it and lit him up, or (b) just barrel tagged the dude. As for why you don't see surrender in speedball, it's because it's very competitive with the prizes and money and such, and I'm sure 99% of the time a surrender would not be accepted anyways....so instead the dude automatically gets 3 in the back. |

I let someone surrender once but they didn't act so well. I was about 10 feet away and said surrender.. they turned around and fired a 3 burst at me (from the hip missing my by 2 feet) so I shot them in the mask for bein' a **edited** about it. -------------

Man, do I ever hate surrender rules.
I love going up to people and taking them out from close range. I played with my bosses once, and they were complaining because I bunkered them instead of telling them to surrender... I was thinking, "You guys are grown men. You should be able to take the sting from getting hit at close range." -------------

I never surrender, even when I run out of air or paintballs, I play on
in a stealth like manner giving away enemies posistions to my teamates
and trying to capture the flag. One time, I even barrel tagged someone
with my barrel condom on because I was out of paint
