I tried to stop recently... Only got to 3 weeks, then had one... Then went another week, then had another and just got sucked right back in. I need to quit, but it's just so dang relaxing! And when I'm smoking.... other things I always want to smoke cigs. -------------

Everybody says cigarettes calm them down, but nicotine is a stimulant. The act of smoking plays with your head and calms you down while the stuff you're smoking revs you up.
I have an occasional pipe. I like to carve them myself and will pick the hobby back up when I get the tools sometime this year, but the couple I've made have come out ok. A Scottish cavendish blend that a store around here used to carry was my favorite. I still carry my lighter though, a Carpe Diem zippo. -------------

I used to... I go off and on. I only smoke usally after one of
those really long bad days... but after I just start smoking one for
the heck of it, I stop for a couple of weeks so i dont grow addicted to
it. I don't care who you are... quitting smoking is about the same as quitting Crack. |

I quit 8 weeks ago and it has been easier then I ever imagined.
Read The EasyWay To Stop Smoking by Allen Carr. I didn't believe it would work but when two of my friends and my wife read it and quit I was sold. I think the hardest part of quitting is because of where I work.
I would have been fine if it weren't for the fact that 3-4 days a week I'm at a restaurant where 85%+ of the people smoke, and my work-area is right next to the smoking area. Add that to a few really stressful days at work, and you've got a bad combination for someone who is trying to quit. -------------

For me, it's like I can go without them... But if I haven't had one in a while, and think about smoking one... I'd better smoke one or I'll crave one like mad.
As long as it stays out of my mind, I'm fine (most of the time). That's just me though. That's also why people smoking around me at work made it harder for me to try and quit (not to mention a lot of my friends smoke while smoking other things). -------------

I dont smoke cigs, the only thing i smoke consistently is that sweet sweet cheebah. I'll have a black or a cigarillo every once in a while but never had a cig believe it or not. On the topic though, I think the first time I tried smoking a cigarette I was like 8 years old.....it was horrible! I didn't see anything appealing about it. But I still got the craving! Those things are freaking addictive...and nasty. But now I smoke marijuana daily and prefer that a lot more. Some say it's the gateway drug, I say it's the reason I've never tried any other drugs. |

i have alergy induced asthma...but im alergic to cig smoke... Although, im the same as Panda, its never really encumbered me...and i rarely EVER do it...i mean like...EVER, its very rare. Like if my friends and i have had a **edited** day ill just walk down to one of their houses and have a cig outside and talk... AMP + Cig = Crazy energy. I don't like the smell of stale cigs (IE: in my car), but the smell or burning cigs can be pleasant at times. Cigars are usually really nice. I find it amusing that you smoke reefer Zesty. You never seemed like the type to me. Don't take it the wrong way, as I do too (usually not QUITE daily, but 4-5 days a week, sometimes). -------------

I will smoke if someone else has something. I really don't care for menthol cigs, but those flavored tiped cigars are good. I used to dip, but it was eating a hole in my money stash, so I had to quit. I really didn't dip much; only about a can a week compared to some of my friend's cans a day. I quit without much problems, but I had only been dipping since summer (I quit about a month ago). As for the thing about smoking, dipping, and the red bull; try smoking a cigar, dipping some Grizzly wintergreen fine cut, and having a beer (hella buzz). And as for the "gateway drug" thing bout mary j, I was chewing tobbaco, but then the buzz didn't come. Eventually, the relazation didn't come much, so I started dipping. I don't know if that is al bull.

Im 14 and in 9th grade. And yes i already do regret it. I tried quitting and when i need nicotine I GET MAD AND BREAK STUFF lost lots a friends cause of no nicotine and i dont like the fact that some drug has complete and total control over me. How's that? The only thing worse is that dip is twice as likely to get people addicted. Like tippmannboy said, I would mcuh rather put some shredded tobbacco in my mouth (even if there is fiberglass in it) than to constantly fill my lungs with smoke, tar, and tons of other chemicals that are highly toxic. All of the crap about rotting your jaw off is just stupid compared to how much worse cigs are. I live in a small southern town, so tons of people dip. I have seen many people die of lung cancer, and even see younger people who have really hard times with breathing and what not. However, I have yet to see the first person die of lip cancer. BTW: I used to like Timberwolf Peach. I started on Grizzly (some of the strongest stuff out there.) but quit, then started on Peach this summer.
