I'm doing this reading thing for world history, were you pick a book and write about it. So I'm going to go with a book along with the Third Reich. What's a good book out there that isn't 1 million pages long.

Mien Kampf...my struggle
And why will not the American Education system allow you to read a book written by one of the 20th Century's Leaders, a form of censorship and maybe revisionist history....
Only knowing the man can you understand the nation state he built...................

Mien Kampf has space aliens and cyborg Nazis with flames throwers fighting against a lone space marine on a Mars desert outpost.

A history of Hitlers empire
The Third Reich
The Third Reich a new history
Nazi Germany the origins and collapse of the Third Reich
Also if you go to your local library check out the 940.45-941.50.. If they use the Dewy Decimal system (as most do) you will find tons of books about Nazi Germany and WWII. Yes I work in a library thats how I know this stuff

yea don't read Mien Kampf, it is basically rambling that whole book. I would suggest All Quiet on the Western Front. Very good book and interesting to read. Its a WWI book if you need a certain war or event please tell me because I've read a couple different ones.

The whole point is that it has to do with the Third Reich (World War II) therefore, he won't be reading books from WWI.
The Rise and Fall of The Third Reich is good... I read it this past summer. If you want a first hand account, go for Mein Kampf, although personally I havn't read it, I would imagine it would be a good source.

Here is Hitlers "SECOND" Book, that no one really has read yet...
This is what Hitler "Truely" thought of America, and all that....
turned out... Early on in the War Hitler Ideolized America... but then
relized it was just a sess(sp) pool of Unpure Races...

i know it's an objectionable topic, but you should read it, for any source you read other than Mein Kampf might and/or will be tainted in some respect in one direction or another. try and find the Time Life Book series on the WWII. i have most of the series, the ISBN number on the Nazis is 0-8094-2534-3. try to get that from the library. the cover shows Hitler saluting what looks like a platoon of soldiers, who are returning the salute. good luck. just remember, try to be objectionable and professional, it will score you points.

Funnily enough, I have BOTH of those texts right here in my room at this moment. I did a paper on Herman Goering last semester (interesting character) and referenced both books....very good books too, I might add.
Mein Kampf was not that good a read at all. I started it, but couldnt finish it, someday I'll re-read it just ot say that I DID, but it wasnt that desirable a read.

And actually if you want another very good book, Pick up Alfonse Heck's book "A Child of Hitler" We had to read it for my "Rise of Nazism" class last semester. Its a short book (Comparitively) but gives a look at nazi Germany through the eyes of a youth during the time.
Excellent read.

Even if it's not a great book you just stated a pretty good reason to read it anyway. It doesn't have to be good to be informative.

Kinda bumping an old thread. But I went with a book called. The Last Days Of Hitler by Anton Joachimsthaler. It's about 300 pages long. Mostly why I got it, and is on one part of his life. I saw Mein Kampf while I was at the bookstore. That black cover with white lettering looks spooky and makes me want to read it. I also wanna read because all the people I talk to think it's the satans book or something. Kinda like Origin Of Species. I saw some other interesting books while in there. Like the Dirty Secrets of WW2. And a few others, after finishing this book, I will most likely buy Mein Kampf and read it on my own time. For some reason I have always been fascinated with Adolf Hitler and other great political, military, revolutionary leaders. Hitler,Stalin,Che Etc.
