PLEASE NOTE-DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME, WORK, CHURCH, OR A PAINTBALL FIELD

I PLAY ON MY OWN RURAL PROPERTY, NOT A REGULATED FIELD

this is not a suggestion, please dont think im telling people to go out and build one

that having been said, I'm looking for a way to up my firepower-please dont recommend auto triggers

i've always had a bit of a destructive streak, always enjoyed a good kaboom...so...when i was reading some vietnam books, i got interested in the m-79 thump gun...that thing is pretty awesome

i realized those tube mortars (about the size of a golf ball) are pretty similar to an M-79 round (except the deteonation details) and i thought this is a perfect way to bolster my arsenal...i was thinking about picking up a case, mounting the tube on a 2x4 frame with a locking action, and shortening the fuses to about 5 seconds

has anyone built one before? any advice?

I understand there are air powered options on the market, but these are out of my price range, and dont give the full effect

its not like im gonna shoot them straight at someone, but i might lob one a dozen yards over their heads to spook them or launch one into a room to quiet them down

please dont flame this, you'll only draw more attention, all i want is to know if anyone has built one before, or any good useable advice

I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THE DANGERS INVOLVED

Goddammit. I was right. Major Darwin potential, right here.

See, what you're considering may well turn out to be illegal. You'd want to check with the BATF about projectile launchers powered by any kind of chemical propellent. Generally there are some kinds of laws regarding their function, caliber, and the like.

YOU may understand the dangers, but the kid getting shot at may not. Plus there's always the potential for an accidental discharge. Also, something that large would have a significant amount of powder invovled. You can't assume that it will burn completely, and that presents a health and/or safety risk to others.

Youa re dangerous. If you insist in trying this on your own property, fine. But don't EVER consider firing it at another player, and don't put anyone else in legal jeopardy by discharging it on their property.

Im telling you, CO2 is the way.

And you should really stop with these firework explosive threads. Some little kid is going to go try it and get blown up. Paintball just doesnt need that.

Yes, these threads with you listing and describing dangerous materials has GOT to stop. I locked and got rid of that thread where you were talking about launching a ball with blackpowder, that should have been your warning. This is the last time I'm going to tell you.
