Whats better for a A-5 w/a flatline E-Grip or an R/T? Talking to some people i hear that since the E-Grip requires a battery that it has more problems then a R/T. Well....post ur opinions and experiences.

This belong in Upgrades and Customizing.

I prefer the egrip, but the r/t is good too.

the only reason you would have problems with the egrip is if you try to do something and not know what yur doing. but you dont have to worry about that because of the forum.  ive had my egrip for over a year and have never had any problems with it nad i can switch out the battery in under a minute.  the egrip is so much more effective then a r/t when you play.

Go for the egrip. It has different firing modes and is allowed at tourneys while sometimes the r/t isn't.

I love R/Ts, but I have to say E-Grip for the A-5. For the extra $50-, you get a guarenteed "legal" upgrade, with more modes, and its just better all around. I think a battery lasts around 10,000+ shots. But Im not sure. Its not like youll need to change it in the middle of the game. Go for the E-Grip.

Unless you play strictly rec or renegade ball, you should probably go with the E-Grip.

The RT is good for people like me who don't play at many organized fields, and just want the most firepower for the money and as little hassles as possible.

The RT shoots as fast, if not faster than the E-Grip, but it's not as user-friendly and can't do a lot of the little things that the E-Grip can such as modes and such...the E-Grip is also a complete trigger group, which means you can swap it out really quickly and replace with stock grip frame.

But then again, the RT can shoot faster, and without batteries!

It's a tough choice for some, but most people would be better served by getting the E-Grip.

Honestly, a RT will rid you of any skill you have.  You'll learn to depend on it instead of your wits.  $20 spent on paint is better than $20 of upgrades.

What do you mean it will rid you of any skill? It's not so easy to just run around firing fast you know. It takes skill and practice to get the r/t to shoot well while under fire or in motion.

Impulsive, why are you so against RT's? I could see if you were on a crusade to destroy all fast-firing guns, but you seem to only have a hard-on for the Tippy RT...what's the deal?

Seriously, I have seen at least 3 threads where you rip the RT as hard as you can, but never once have I seen you dis any other fast-shooting paintgun.

Did you get ripped on by an RT or something?

Well..seeing that i play woodball and not tourney's i guess i'll get the R/T. Well thanks for ur opinions. But i would still like to hear more opinions just in case if i decide not to buy a R/T.

You'd be better off just getting a E-grip, cause the with the r/t you have to make custom screw wholes and everything.

Well I play mil/sim ( woods ball) and I have a e grip and the rt. The rt just feels better. I like the small kick it gives you. + you can adjust your rate of fire just by knowing your marker. I can shoot 2-3-5 round bursts or full auto just by how i pull the trigger. no fiddleing with settings. also i realy belieave that the r/t shoots faster. + no batteries.

You dont have to make custom screw holes in your marker. it is super easy to install. and if you maintain your marker ( ever taken it apart) you can have it installed in about 20 mins.

^First off, welcome to the forum! However, please start a new thread if you have a question.

Hybrid_v9, the RT can actually do a few things the E-Grip can't. The most important ones being shooting faster and not requiring batteries!

Mistrhandyman makes a good point. When your RT is set right, you can basically shoot a burst of however many balls you want, but still have the option of pulling all the way through for one shot.

He's also right about the installation....there's no need to drill holes or anything, just remove a small tab that is already cut and ready to be pulled out. The instructions are written EXTREMELY well, so just follow them and you should be done in about 30 minutes max.

If you plan to play tourneys or at a lot of organized fields, go with the E-Grip.

If you play rec and just want the fastest-shooting upgrade with the least amount of technology, get the RT.

^It would be polite of you to start your own thread....what you are doing is know as "highjacking" a thread.

It isn't good when some raghead does it to a plane, and it's not really appreciated by any forum that I know of.

I've had both the r/t and e-grip.  I never liked the r/t from day one.  Always gave me problems.  Maybe it was defective or operator error? I upgraded to the e-grip and love it.  Even on semi auto mode you can easily walk the trigger if needed.

people have been saying that different rate of fire are optional with the r/t. well if you think about it, so is the egrip. if you set it to semi auto, you can walk it how ever fsat you want with out worrying about having to find the sweet spot. just shoot however fast you want.  can go fsater, not by much though, and even if you did get it to go a lot faster, the cyclone wouldnt be able to keep up with the rof, eliminating that advantage. overall, i believe you will be more impressed with the results of the egrip. and after the lowering of the prices of egrips by 20 dollars, you dont have to pay much more than wut you would have to for the r/t.

I'm familiar with both and like them both but I would prefer an E-grip if I had an A-5.  You can't beat the ease of replacing those grips and those modes.

Personally I have an r/t on my 98, following natural newbie's super r/t to the letter.  And it rips faster and as effeciently as any electro I've ever shot (with some trigger mods of course).  It's basicly preference, but thr r/t can do alot more if you put the time into it.

I am not saying one is better than the other, but there is no way the E-Grip can do some of the things the RT can do, and vice-versa.

But the big thing with the RT is this...you set it up right, when you pull all the way, you get one shot. When you hold the trigger halfway you get F/A...it's that simple.

With the E-Grip, you really can't do that.

If you put it in semi, there is NO WAY you are gonna shoot that as fast as an RT. 17bps is a lot when you're actually pulling the trigger.

I'd actually like to own an E-Grip, but the RT has fulfilled my fast-shooting fix since the day I got it over a year ago.

^ProCarbines are cool, but not for shooting fast.

They're still one of the lightest and easiest to carry guns I've ever used, though.

another reason i like the egrip is because when your under pressure in a situation during the game, you dont have to worry about trying to find the sweetspot on the egrip. its kinda hard to just find the sweetspot popping out of a bunker for like one or two seconds.
