i have a 98c    people say put 2-3 drops in the asa, 2-3 on the back bolt.................My local stor said to put it on the fron bolt.  Do they mean like right where the balls load or the walls of nwhere the bolt slides against.  Do i cock it back and oil the walls?

Waiiit! Your local store clerk is not to bright. Do not oil the front bolt, or that think that slides over the powertube. It iwll get oil in your barrel, which is bad. If you did like I did, and had burrs on your powertube and sanded it down a lil, one drop is enough. But otherwise, just the ASA...

Hi, Everybody does it slightly differently. 2-3 in asa and 2-3 on back bolt and o-ring. The front bolt gets only one or two at most on its o-ring. Air up and dry cycle your gun 20-30 times to spread the oil around and get it worked into the linkage arm up top. You don't want much if any oil to get in your barrel or on the paint. It will hurt your accuracy and consistancy. It helps if you take your barrel off while oiling, less to clean after.

Do what I do, use Q-Tips. Soak the end in oil, and apply a thin layer on the rear bolt, linkage arm, front bolt, and trigger assembly area. Also wipe some on the walls of the reciever where the parts above go, except the front bolt walls. And drop 2-3 in the ASA ofcoarse.

^^ Sure, you can do all that when you dissasemble your marker to clean
it. But I think he's just asking about oiling before playing.

Matty, before you gas up your gun before a day of playing drop some oil
down the ASA and a drop or two on the rear bolt, and that will be fine for
the whole day. When you clean your marker out every once in awhile, you
can oil all the moving parts by hand then.

You don't really need oil on the front bolt all that much. Like Spykill said,
oil in your barrel or on your paint will kill your accuracy.

do you oil your power tube?

The ASA (Air Source Adapter) is the thing you screw your tank into. Drop the oil into the hole so that it cycles through your valve and oils it. The powertube houses the valve, so just do the ASA oil thing.

No, you don't oil the power tube. It is not a moving part. Only moving
parts need oil.
