I havent played paintball for a while because all my markers all have various non-working parts. I attempted this past weeek to fix one of my A-5s so that I could play tommorow. After fixing a leak, I test fired the marker and found that my recocking problem is still accuring.

I would please like some input on how to fix the problem. Besides being low on air, is there any other solutions to fixing a marker that needs to be recocked after every shot? If the velocity setting was to low would this cause there to not be enough air left over to throw the bolt back?

Any suggestions/ideas would be helpful. Even something indirectly related might help, and the obvious might have been overlooked on my part, so if you think it might solve my problem, let me know. I could probably find the answer by searching, but unfortunately I dont have the time. After I post this I am taking off and finishing my 12 hour shift. Thanks guys, I appreciate any help/ suggestions offered. If help doesnt come, I will search late tonight and hope I can fix it in time for tommorow.

Details partaining my marker, I have tried alot of different set-ups to fix/diagnose the problem. Any configuration of the A-5 been tested except and drop forward and r-t trigger. Any other configuration has been tired in attempt to fix.

Once again, thanks for the help.

I don't know about the A-5, but on the m98 and m98C there is an O ring by the endcap. Make sure that is there, as it absorbs the blow as the rearbolt flies back.

No the velocity screw will not at all affect any mechanical performance except muzzle velocity. Nothing else, it just diverts gas. First check the the condition of the rear bolt o-ring, and inner end of the powertube. If that is missing and/or theres not a good seal, blowback gases will escape and not push the bolt back. Another thing to check is the valve bolts. Check if they are loose or missing and apply some Loctite and snug them in to prevent further loosening which will cause similar problems.

Does the gun propell the paintball normaly? Do you know or not is the tank is low? Please get back to us on this.

Thanks for the help...

I seem to have fixed the problem this morning. I switched out an after market power tube/valve and the swapped the rear bolt with an extra one I had. Also I added some oil. The after tombstone adapter didnt seem to be fitting into the after market power tube properly so I switched back to the stock power tube/ valve. I am thinking that was the biggest part of the problem.

Thanks again for the help.
