I thought his outfit was quite pimping. The gun is sweet and the pants rule. The bandana and the sock/boot things are pretty cool.

^^Sorta. These zouaves WERE confederate. Do a little research on 'Wheats Tigers' and see what you come up with...and incidentally, i DO wear that uniform when I reenact. You can only imagine the looks we get from people. ------------- ? |

You're thinking of these guys: http://home.nycap.rr.com/lathfam/5ny.jpg - http://home.nycap.rr.com/lathfam/5ny.jpg thats the 5th NY zouaves. thats what people think when they hear 'zouave' The Confederates had the "Tiger Zouaves" from Louisiana, they were, for the most part, wharf rats and former convicts taken from the prisons and put into the ranks. They were reputed to be so fierce that one time in battle, they decided that their rifles loaded to slow, and assaulted, and captured two artillery pieces armed with bowie knives. Needless to say, they were pretty much wiped out by early 1863. You dont see many portrayals of this unit though....we decided to do it because it was different.....Needles to say, I'm not posting any pictures of us in those uniforms up in THIS part of the internet. ------------- ? |
