Ok first thing is first. I started out in paintball when one of my friends had just bought the A-5. I was amazed by its performance. I wanted to get into paintball right away and so I asked him wat kind of gun to get and so he said A-5 and I was like I can't spend that kind of money(yes I was short on money). So then I went to Academy (so sad) and saw all these fancy looking guns that were all electronic, but being a good friend as he is, he showed me the way to the 98 Custom. Oh yeah, he wouldn't let me buy a gun that wasn't Tippmann. So I have had my 98 Custom for about 2 years (I think).
For my newb story. I had just gotten my gun and I had to test it on my friend, the one I was talking about above ^^. He had an A-5 equiped with a flatline ,e-grip, and double trigger. I felt intimidated with just a stock 98 Custom. Well we were playing in the middle of the night, and we were playing in the woods. We had just started and he was shooting as fast as he could and he was just standing firing everywhere because he didn't know where I was so, I took my gun(we were both still at the starting points) and I shot three balls And I hit him with the third.
All the above is true

Some members of my Scout troop were holding a Paintball
game/campout. They needed another target . . . er, player, so
they called me and asked if I wanted to try.

A couple of my friends and I were walking up the street when we were in
elementary school and some highschoolers started shooting us with
paintball guns. We got hit a couple times, but thought that the guns
were awesome. A year later I ended up getting my gun.

got my first gun about one month after that. it was a 98 custom which i still have
newb story: i ended up shooting myself in the foot the first time
because i wanted to know what it felt like to get hit.....it hurt a lot
more than i thought it would(mainly due to the fact that the gun was 6
inches from my body)

My friend played for a bday party and he told me it was a cool sport. My brother also played a few times.
Got my tippmann 98 custom in spring of 2001.
my story: First time playing at a field. I was told to move up to this big van. I ran and slid in. I dropped a pod of paint and turned around to pick it up. My whole back side was lit up with paintballs. I still have not been lit up as bad as that time. It was the most fun I have ever had.

My friend had a stock 98, and i loved shooting it, so one day i decided to go paintballing at a real field (his first time too, but he had his own gun) rented a pro/carbine, played all day, went home bragged about how good it was, convinced my parents (really didnt have to cause they considered it a very intense work-out, and an extreme sport). So, i saved up my money about a month later WOAH! i'm at the local paintball shop. Bout a Piranha EXT pro 2k3, revvy, 20 oz co2, belt, pods, mask, sqeegee, season pass to the field, totalled me around 450, WOAH within the next 2 weeks im out playin at the field the feedneck just randomly falls off, i go into the shop have the guy look at it. He says, ur threads are stripped on your feedneck, so he said it has been happening alot with the same gun so he said, pick out any gun you want, picked out an A-5 gave the guy 40 bucks, and now i have an A-5. Long story short, pimped out the A-5, it has a been a good haul A-5 you have given me great expirences. But now we must move on. RIP A-5 3/21/05 (selling it)

RAF Upper Heyford, 1985: MWR (Morale, Welfare, Recreation) scheduled a trip to a local field. We used Splatmasters, wore shop goggles, and paintballs were approximately a quarter each. My newb story from the first game was trying to shoot someone with the safety on.
First marker I owned was a Vulcan pump. I worked my way through a Talon, Tigershark, Stingray, Stingray2, F2 Illustrator and a Bruiser SOB before I discovered Tippmanns (which is all I own now).
My newb story from when I started playing again after several years off was shooting someone with my barrel plug. (Hey, we didn't have those when I quit, and anyway, he called out.)
Marker I wish I'd never parted with: Tippmann F/A (I don't miss the Mini-lite or the 68 Special, but I miss the F/A.)

Brass Eagle Eradicator in 01'. Ahhh, those were the days.
Story: Night game, cow pasture, I take a shot to the lower stomach area and roll back out of the way behind a hay bail. I feel something wet and sticky on my leg and ass. Then I smell something. You can do the rest...
