Rofl. At The local Scout Camp we have huge bamboo forests, they cover 40% of the camp. A staff member from Kentucky made a set of rather awsome shot glasses from bamboo. Our endangered Chinnese Banmboo groove has huge poles, lots of fun to prop up dead ones and drop them in front of people. Orange Chicken = Spicy. It used to be kinda sweet then they added more peppers. A little too spicy now, I acctually have to take an antacid before I eat it. That's beacuse bamboo is full of water. When the water heats up very fast, it more or less "explodes" (See: Chernoble).
Bamboo is a great source of water. Just make sure you filter it in some way before you drink it. (There is also a lot of sugar in Bamboo) ------------- Most importantly - People suck. |

Pardon me Belt, but I must call you a tool.  Bamboo Explodes because of air pockets. Each segment is completely hollow. The only solid parts are where branches come out. When you set it on the fire, the air particles in the pockets begin to move faster and faster, making the preassure rise until BAM. There is practically no water in bamboo. And when you are talking about sugar in bamboo, I think you are thinking of sugar cane. Both are grasses and look alike. EDIT : I wouldnt call what I got heartburn, just a sore stomach.
