I've done some fine tuning to the springs and trgger I've chrono'd
it when I was playing one day and I got 22 bps, I dunno what I'm
shooting in these videos though. I haven't played for months so my
fingers suck now anyways, its shooting at 650 psi and 280/285fps with
the palmers.
I was pinching in the video, I think the halo batteries were low (tippy outrunning a halo buahaha). Oh yeah
I've cut the drive spring so it pinches instead of chopping so I have
to recock it a few times in the video. Haven't chopped with the spring
ever, only pinches.
Mods to make the trigger lighter:
- Pre/post-pull
- No trigger return spring
- Extended sear springs
- Cut green madmann springs <---helps alot!
- Polished internals and sear <-polishing sear where it makes contact with the bolt is a big one.
- Tape on the pin the sear sits on (right behind the trigger) to shorten the pull
- NO slop pins
- Polished bolt
- EDIT: FINGERS!!!
Let me know what you think.
PS. If your having problems with the video host let me know. I need to
find a better one, if you know of a better host let me know. Thanks

It doesn't need anything. It's sexy just as it is, and if the trigger is set up right, it is probably pretty fast and more reliable than an electro.

Beautiful! I love the way Halo B's look on 98's for some reason. I don't know how reliable E-bolts are, but having a firepower upgrade would rock. It may look absolutely incredible, but it simply can't keep up with most of the stuff on the field. Maybe an LPK, but they look mad ugly in my opinion. That thing rocks though, looks hot.

Lol SnakeEyes thanks for noticing yes im the same guy. About the LPK and firepower upgrade. I've had a LPK and beleive me its not worth it. Its running at 500psi right now im not going to pay another 100 bucks to run my gun 200 psi lower...As for firepower it clocked in at 12bps on my friends computer program, I've done a lot of trigger mods to it, pre-post-pull, some pin work, polished sear and rear bolt like crazy mmm so smooth.
As for the cocking knob I shaved that down because I hate it sticking out of the gun when im trying to aim down the side. All in all I am very pleased with my setup right now

Loving the look. Keep up the good work and ignore all the harassment of having a Halo B on your Tippmann. I had to deal with it also but some people just don't realize how great the Halo works on a Tippmann.

Haha thanks for backing me up on the halo guys I get that a lot.

Last time I checked, chronos were used for fps, not bps. And about the video, you said it was coming soon in March. Sorry, but I don't believe mech tippies to hit 15bps without a firepower up without proof of vid.

I am with MariosRampage on this one , I've got a 98C customized almost the same way , including a Halo B , and with a 98 cycling as fast as it is , you need one .
Mario , check out a place called Dark Horizons , and their Titanium bolt , the Ultra-Lite , about 40% of the weight of the steel bolt that tippmann makes , less weight , faster cycling times , got one in my "Widowmaker" and it works . I havent done quite the extensive trigger work you've done , but close , mine isnt quite walkable yet,,
The reason I think Mario went with a straight up Mechanical rig ,is the same as my choice , its more reliable and less prone to malfunctions , at last shooting with mine , Better than two months of renegade rec-ball everyweekend , without one chop or break , only malfunction I had was when I took a hit down the barrel , that was messy , LOL !!
Kudos Mario ! thats a good solid shooter ,you've put a lot of work and heart into it , you should be proud of it !! and I dare anybody to prove they can duck 15 BPS !!,,, okay , step up Boys !! Yeah , the 98C WILL do 15 easy as a straight up mechanical ...

Heh exacally what I expected, I wouldn't beleive it either... and your not going to beleive this... I took it out to the chrono again, my friends e2 autococker was hittin 24 bps and I did mine and I hit 22....then I stopped in disbeleif that maybe there was a malfunction, but I did it again and got 20....Ill have to get that video for sure now because Im really curious to how fast its actually shooting.
Another thing is that it DOESN"T CHOP! Since I cut the drive spring to the perfect length it doesn't have enough force in the early stage to push through a ball, instead it pinches it half way, I have to recock of course... but atleast I dont chop

Haha pirate, they're easy its just the perfect spring thats a PITA to find. I didn't even try to cut the spring so it wouldn't chop...it just doesn't, pretty good luck I guess. Plus this works and the gun hardly ever pinches anyways.

Mario Nice gun I remeber you from Model98's site. As for the speed of it I believe you because I have done several trigger mods to my gun including polishing stuff like the linking slot basicly if it moved I polished it. And I am not getting as high of a rate of fire as you however I can walk my tippy and am getting about 13-14 bps of it and it is still mech. so I give you a 9.9/10 only cause I think that you need to do some milling and then I will give you a 10/10
