So, what are all it's features? I could have sworn they were selling it in Curcuit City yesterday.
I saw the actual device, and it looks like it's about 90% screen, so that's cool. So, WTF does it do? |

It plays games with almost the graphics of a PS2. Also plays music and i think can do some of the stuff a PDA can.
My friend has had one for like a month already, he ordered it from japan. He even says he is an idiot cause he payed like $325 after shipping and evrything. ------------- ///AMG What? |

Damn, that's crazy how they needed the original-sized PS2 to fit all the hardware, then they went to that slimmer PS2 which is like less than half the size, and now tey are putting even more technology in a package even smaller.

Plus you could always just pop in another battery. Just having the opton to play movies is cool. Does it take regular-sized cd's? How about the memory cards? What I'm getting at, is do you have to buy new stuff or can the regular PS2 gear be used with it? |

Thats the thing! Even the full length movies, they come in a special format. It sucks, so if you wanted to have a DVD in it, you would have to get the special PSP one! The memory stick is a USB type thing. No regular sized CDs. It takes a format called "UMD" I dont know what it means but this is what it looks like.

its a game/mp3/movie player they're making movie discs for it so this is gonna be the ultimate handheld...my friend got his today im gonna go over to check it out...I'm a DS owner myself so we're gonna try them both out side by side -------------

The kid who got one from japan told me that he could only store like 6 songs on the "stock" memory card, so it was prolly the 32MB one. I doubt it has an internal HDD. ------------- ///AMG What? |

Well, I went to the mall for lunch on Sunday and accidentally walked by GameStop. Now I own a PSP. Pretty cool little system. The dics are nicely protected in their own plastic casing and the system seems pretty solid. Nice buttons and the little spot on the face that I thougt was a speaker turned out to be the analog. Very nice feature for a handheld. I have Spiderman 2, movie and game, and the play is really nice. Great, bright screen and the battery lasts much longer than 2 hours. I heard that the movie format could be duplicated on your computer and burned onto UMD for use on the PSP, given the right software. -------------

I like my brothers PSP a lot more then i expected, but for $250 i dont think ill be picking one up any time soon. I wouldnt use it enough to warrant the price. Graphics, amazing. Movie quality, equally amazing. Price, not so much.
