I'm finally in!, i swore into the U.S. Army today. 4 1/2 hours waiting paid off,lol. i ship off to Basic Training July 6.

Yeah, when you get to boot, get things right the first time, and listen to your drill instructors. As time goes on, they will be your best friend.

What is going to be your MOS?
And let me tell you a little hint about Drill Sargeants- the first 3 weeks there is no correct answer. No matter what you say they are gonna drop you (push-ups) and dont call them "sir". Outside of that remember that basic is the hardest part everything after that is a piece of cake. Its great you'll love every minute of it (well maybe after the fact).

i fired an ar-15 and m4 today after seeing how hard they are to master i wish you luck. i hit one target after unloading 2 magazines. i did ok with the level action .22 and i made a cinder block explode with a 30 odd 6. anyway. thanks for your service and good luck mastering your rifle soldier. =)

1st time out on the range firing a rifle larger than a .22. i shot trap with a 12 gauge once though. now that i know what its like i plan on trying to get to the range more

Yes shooting is fun, I dont really think the m4 is that hard (of course ive been shooting since i was 6) but the 30-06 is a great all around gun the m4 is REALLY loud aint it? its got a high pitched crack to it.
