Ricochet R5 was a great idea, but the plastic it is made of has to be the cheapest most fragile plastic out there.

What a piece of junk.

To my knowledge, the A-5, which I presume you're using, feeds at a rate of 15 balls per second, which is set by the spinning capability of the cyclone feed system.  Therefore rendering the R5 useless, correct?

I believe the whole concept behind the R5 was to impliment the "Paint deflecting" angles into an A-5 hopper.  Which, BTW I think that whole paint deflect is a load of bull.

^ thats because it IS a bunch of bull...if you suck so bad as you have to put money into a hopper that is known to "deflect paintballs," then you should be practicing tucking in all the time...not shelling out extera cash so you can take the easy way out...

I own the Rico AK for my M98C and I think it's a great product.

Maybe they made the A5 shells out of crappier plastic?

Anyone with a Ricochet electro hpper and the A5 shell care to compare?

I remember when this whole forum was raving about this hopper and encouraging everyone to buy it and now after a while its been out everyone is realizing how crappy it is lol. Guess this is a lesson to all of us that u take risks buying just released products tat have no reviews n all

Well, this is the first I've heard about it being crappy, so I'd like to get to the bottom of things before I write the hopper shell off as a piece of junk.

^^

Yeah I dont visit this forum too often, I mainly post in the New Players.

Someone wanted me to elaberate, I worked for a plastics company (no I am no bragging, it was grunt work) But that did give me an insite to different plastics.

The stock A-5 Hopper is made of a much more forgiving plastic, I am sure it has rubber in it as well. The R5 is made from a cheaper more fragile plastic. You can tell be just handling both. My R5 first cracked in the back, I thought it was from from traveling. But then after it Split in half just putting it back on I was like, damn what a piece of crap.

About the comment of getting it because "I have no skill" sorry my friend you are wrong in our preseption of why I bought it. I bought it because it was lighter, was about 1/4" shorter and held I think 30 more rounds. I did not buy it for the reasons you spoke of, so get off that high horse of yours and think before you speak Sir.

Anyways, I am sure there was topics about this and didnt want to dig up the past. I was just doing what this forum is meant for.

Have a nice day

Long Live Tippmann.

If they made it out of the same material as the stock hopper it would be heavier but it would be much better than stock in the long run.

Ricochet hoppers have durability issues in my opinion. I won't get the R5, and i have never been a fan of it.

One thing I will say is that I have heard of this happening to the newer stock hoppers as well.

It took Tippmann some time to get it right and get a plastic formula that could take a ball hit, maybe Rico will come out with a new one with better plastic.

Maybe you should copy and paste this and email it to Ricochet.
