Just picked it up yesterday and it is one of the most intense submarine simulators to date. If you ever seen "Das Boot" you know of the U-boats, and this has been a hobby of mine since childhood.

The grafics effects are beyond what I expected, in the rain and fog of the North Atlantic you look out thru rain streaked binoculars, as the waves crash over the conning tower, see blures of shadows, and maybe a whisp of smoke.

Under depth charge attack my laptop shakes as the sound of the double click of the detonator is followed by the crash of the charge going off, you hear water dripping, glass breaking, and are plunged in to darkness as the lights go out (you can not see the controls on the screen).

The crewmen interact with you, morale and supplies detrermine efficiency...and when you cry alarm and begin the diving sequence you see crewmen rush thru the control room heading for the foward torpedo compartment to get weight foward and the boat diving faster.....seconds and depth mean life or death.............

Was playing till after 2am this morning...totally hooked......

Never heard of the game, sounds good though.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse."

512k min 1G recommended
128k vid card...will work 64k
DVD/CDROM required (video feeds of action sequences)
P4 or equivilent

Needs a pretty intense system to run..... my laptop with P4, 1G, 128k vid works smooth

OS have you looked into WW2 online at all?

You probably couldn't play on the laptop due to requirements and it's pay to play but it's the ultimate in team interaction. You can be a foot soldier, tank commander, pilot, air traffic controller, etc.

The graphics for WW2 Online look like poo.  Seems intriguing though.

The graphics are supposedly getting better all of the time.  When they made the game they had to make some sacrifices with the graphics to keep the game playable for the masses.

Just look at Daggerfall (if anyone's heard of that game), not the best graphics (not even that great back in '95 when it came out, because most of the game world was randomly generated), but great gameplay. Even though you had to download patch after patch, and it was still buggy.
