So I was watching the Space channel and they had this show called "Beyond", basically it was about the prediction of the end of the world in around 2012. They were talking about the predictions of the myans(sp?), and others people, but most importantly the bible. They say that they've decoded predictions from the bible of siginifacant(sp) historic events that have happened. Another prediction was the end of the world. So I was thinking, what if it doesnt happen, does this question the whats written in the bible, could some of it be false? Discuss. -------------

Oh yes, the Bible Code.....phffffffftb. Its pretty cool stuff, but I think its just a bunch of malarcy. However I would be interested in the mayan prediction. There has been alot of giant storms, volcanoes, and earthquakes latly. |

faith is a powerful thing, just because some people had faith in Hitler doesn't mean the same thing for people who have faith in the bible. I'm an athiest by the way, but don't discredit someone else's faith based on the past. -------------

I read somewhere they put alot of great weather/geometric events into a computer, and it created a predictons chart for the years to come. I dont think the Human race will not just "Stop". I dont see us Human Dying out EVER... were too.. "Infestive" to stop. By the time this world is completly destroyed either by polution or Nuclear War, we will already have established a new Colony on Mars or somthing, we will also have estblished a "Clean Burning Fuel" much like a cold-fusion theory, but without all the science-fiction blended in it... We will most likely also establish just one ruler, because the Human race works much more efficent off just one ruler, we've been doing it for thousands of years now... and will mostlikely will still be using it till this "God" character decides our time is up, and the four horsemen will run rampit or w/e happens... I dont see the Human Race ever just "Stoping" we will live on forever, weither it be threw Evolution, or some type of medomorphic-physical change. -------------

| For as long as we have been on this planet people have been predicting the end, I have seen so many tv shows with facts about how the world is going to end, most of the dates have already passed without anything happening. I don't even flinch at these predictions anymore, besides if something does happen we will either be in the afterlife which is suppost to be better than here, or we won't have to worry about it, or anything. |

For people who dont know about the tribulation. Its states that it will start with the rapture. All people who ar saved wil simply vanish to the unsaveds eyes. The there will start a 7 year tribulation. In those 7 years there will be judgments and test. The Anti-Christ will rise and fall. At the end of those 7 years humanity will die. Satan will be locked away in the gates of hell again and God will rebuild Heaven and Earth and life will start all over again. The bible has been proven right more times then wrong. And you have to think that how many times the bible has been changed its still very accurate. If you dont believe in the bible, then thats your choice, if you do then awsome for you. I think the Mayans were a smart race, but to predict a year is kinda far fetched. No one knows when the world will end except one person and if ya dont believe in him yippe for you. People are so freaked out right now will all the environmental things happening that there looking for things to proove or disproove. Like the tsunami. That was predicted in the bible from what Ive heard. Moby D.ick is in english, they are not using the bible, they are using the torah, and its in hebrew. Well the worl shouldn't destroy now because god made humans. Also god made dinosaurs and raptors, he let them live for millions until the big bang. Ooooh, well in the bible codes, if you look up, "Apocolypse" and "Armagedon" You find a matrix that says. "It will wipe the earth" and "No one will be spared" and "It came in the year 2012" other strange saying, these arent the exact sayings, but they are like what you would find. From what I see, and I may have missed one, all the comments regarding Christianity directly (ie "it states this" or "it's wrong because of this") have been either blatantly wrong or downright stupid, and most were both.
Can we please agree to not post biased crap in these discussions? Having people going "I'm right!" "No, I'm right!" "Well, you're retarded and God is fake, so there!" doesn't accomplish anything. And here I thought this thread had potential. When I'm feeling less annoyed I'll comb through it again.. maybe.
