I'm starting a contest where you can compete as an individual but also be a team for your favorite forum. As an individual, you have a chance to win prizes (gift certificates). As a team member, you can earn bragging rights.
I'm starting with the 4 forums that I participate in the most. pbnation, pbreview, the Tippmann forum and my own CountyPaintball forum. We may extend it to other forums if they show any interest. The idea is an office pool for NPPL events with each forum having it's own group. I'm using EZOfficePool.com to manage the pools. The pool type is "Top Ten". All you do is rank how you think the top ten pro teams will finish for each event. There are 18 teams in the pro division. You pick the ten that you think will finish at the top. Once the event is over, the actual results get posted and the closer you are to the actual results, the more points you get. Each group will get a score that is a calculation of the average of all it's members. People who don't make picks are not counted into that average. That will give us a group ranking for the forums competition. The individual, from all the groups, with the highest score of each event will win a $25 Gift Certificate to CountyPaintball.com. The individual with the highest accumulated total after all the events will win a $50 Gift Certificate. (The gift certificates will only be awarded if we have at least 100 participating members.) Click on the forum name of your choice to join that forum's group. I don't care if you play for more than one forum, but please, only one entry per person in each group. Just click on the link above (for the Tippmann group assumingly, but you can join the others too if you like) Once you're signed up, you'll be on a page that lists the 4 remaining NPPL events. Tampa is the first one. click on "Edit" in the Tampa row and you can enter your picks. Just pick the 10 teams you think will finish at the top, in the order you think they'll finish. If you don't follow NPPL, just guess or go to nppl.tv to see how each team is doing. We added a PB2X group for the folks at Paintball2Xtremes. Hopefully we can get the magazine to put something in their next issue about it. That could give us a really good sized group.

yes, the password is "tippmann" (it's built into the link on the first page)

Everyone who joins a group, is signed up individually.
No matter what group you're in, you're still an individual going for the prizes. After each event, the overall individual winner gets a $25 Gift Certificate. At the end of the season, the individual with the overall highest accumulated score wins the $50 Gift Certificate. As for the group competition, there's no actual prize for that. Just the fun of it. When you're on the EZOfficePool.com website, you can click on "Group Rankings" to see which group has the best average score. The only picks you can see are your own. Until the deadline, everyone else will show "?" for each pick if they've made picks.
