Think its possible to bring a webpage hit counter up to 999,999,999? On my schools main page theres a counter and were trying to get it to max out. We just keep pressing refresh by holding down F5 and it refreshes like 10 times per second. Had about 10 people doing it today in the lab, raised it well over 90,000. Its at like 240,000 now. Think well max it out in a few months, or crash the server? -------------

I wish the site worked off the network like at home. Then id put a book or somthing on F5 and go to sleep, and leave it on all day and night. -------------

Ha ha, this isnt my new hobby, just something to make school more fun, and not do work! Theres plenty of free time during school! The forum, WWII reenacting, paintball, marker fixing and tinkering, hunting and fishing, and metal working are my hobbies. Now if I could up the counter from home, then it would be my new hobby!!! -------------

Today we went from 280,000 to 316,000. And I made a mistake, the counter only goes up to 99,999,999 (99 mil). Well have to do about 2.2 million a day to reach it by the last day of school. Doesnt seem possible this school year. Had four people doing it in tech drawing today. Tape and water bottles work well, but the teacher told us to stop, so I just moved the window really far aside. But the other people quit early so the count was low. And the adress doesnt work off the network. Ill try to keep the key down all night at school. They leave the comps on all night and just turn off the monitor. -------------

well, the site will crash...remember the problems the forum had around christmas because of that one "1,000,000 views!" thing? Six people were going to help, but there was too much work to do in class for good participation. Going to get a ton tommorrow in tech drawing. Easily over 425k. -------------

Since we can't help him with crashing his schools server/ hitting 99 million on the hit counter, why don't we here at the forum pick a site and all try to crash it/ hit max # on hit counter? -------------

^ Great idea!! Lets find a simple site with a counter and try to max or crash it! A very simple site works better because it loads faster. Find one! And today we didnt do it. The internet was down in fourt period for some reason... -------------

No idea. Our server and system sucks so somtimes the internet just isnt connected and wont reconnect, and somtimes certain rooms' internet just doesnt work. And Im sure other people refreshing contributed. They no absolutly nothing about computers. My old comp teacher made us log on our computers before class and "check for viruses". -------------
