I am planning on getting a new gun and I've narrowed it down to either the 98 Sniper Package or the 98 Survival Package. Which one would you recommend on getting? Also, is there anything that you would recommend getting with either one of those guns? (Like scopes, chambers, etc...)

I saw the 98 survival on a website ( http://www.800paintball.com - www.800paintball.com ) I think it's the same as the Pro RT. It comes with a Drop Foward, RT, an Expansion chamber and a 14" barrel.

But I am one of those players who likes the long distance, sniper tactics. That's why I am thinking about the Flatline.

the flatlines great! i personally dont like the looks of the 98c flatline so because of that reason i'd say get the survival package with the drop and such...but if ur more of a sniper then get the one that suits ur needs best

good luck!

If I get the Sniper Package, is there any important recommended upgrades or accessories I should get?

im not overly familar with the sniper package other than it has a flatline and a stock right? if thats all it has then i'd suggest an expansion chamber if ur plan' on using c02 and if ur a true sniper prolly want to get a remote coil

The package comes with a Custom 98, Flatline Barrel, Remote Line and a stock. Should I look into getting a sight or dot scope or would it just get in the way?

i think sites give u too much tunnel vision leaving u open to being flanked so i guess if it comes with all that then id suggest an expansion chamber still and then the rest of the upgrades r up to u on how u want ur gun to look/ feel sort of thing. for ex. maybe dye stickie 03's or a double trigger for more comfortable shooting

What is a good expansion chamber? Does it have to be made by Tippmann?

Don't get an x-chamber. If you're serious enough about woodsball to get a good setup like the 98 w/ flatline and car stock, drop the extra cash to buy a Palmer's Satilizer regulator. Your CO2 will be MUCH more consistent, and your marker consequently more accurate.

What's the difference between a regulator and the expansion chamber?? Which one would be better?

Oh yea.. I'm a woodsball player

I know the expansion chamber allows the Co2 liquid to turn into gas, but how does it help? And I have know clue what the regulator is suppost to do....... So what do u recommend?

OK A regulator regulates the pressure that goes into the marker, typically CO2 is about 800-850 psi a regulator keeps the pressure at a consistent pressure, CO tends to change its pressure with the temp. it could go higher or lower. an x-chamber gives liquid CO a chance to turn into a gas which in return gives you a more consistent pressure it also help to keep from freezing up your gun. when liquid CO gets in your gun it does bad things to the o-rings. I personally would purchase a high pressure comp air bottle and be done with all the problems of CO.

I believe this is the right explanation.

ok I looked up Palmer's Satilizer regulator's and they run about $100. You can get a 47/3000 high pressure comp air bottle for $70-$100 go comp air.

ok #1 DO NOT waste ur money on getting a small hpa tank such as a 47/3000...you will get the same amount of shots as a 9oz with or without a regulator

#2 decide just how much money u want to spend and wat type of paintball u want to play and wat suits ur style/needs. some ppl have an expansion chamber and use co2 and it works great for them, others like to use hpa, personally, for rec ball, i think co2 with an expansion chamber or regulator works just fine.

#3 when deciding wether to get a regulator or expansion chamber u have to again decide how much money ur willing to spend and if ur thinkn of gettin hpa down the road. a regulator is great but with co2 u can get just as much consistency out of a quality expansion chamber as u do a regulator. but if ur thinkn of getting hpa down the road then you should prolly look into a regulator that works well with both co2 and hpa such as a palmer's stabilizer or a bob long torpedo reg so u can run co2 now and then upgrade to hpa once u have the money or what not.

i think i covered everything...if theres n/e thing else ur wondering about either search for it or pm and ill be glad to help ya out!

good luck!

Why would you want to by a regulator if you use hpa when the bottle already has a reg on it ? yes so are adjustable and some are not but 2 regs sounds like a waste. a 47/3000 hpa bottle gives you around 500-600 shots which is plenty if your playing at a field that you can refill.

OK, here's suttin that may help u... I play woodsball and some just some scenario stuff like capture the flag. I don't really plan on going into tournaments... I just like to play for fun. I like to use sniper like tactics and like to get the long shots. Right now I have a Model 98, but I am planning on getting the 98 Sniper package (Flatline, Stock, remote line and 98 Custom) I would like to get something (regulator or expansion chamber) that I could add to the new gun, but isn't really high in price. And right now, I am using Co2 (I have 16oz. tank)

Maybe that can clear all of my questions up

If your looking to stay low cost go with a GTA X-chamber. I had a 98C and was very happy with the x-chamber, How ever I tried to put it on myself and ended up sending the whole gun to (in pieces) Tippmann and they put it together. If you get one either send it to Tippmann or have someone who has do it before put it on.

I would get the 98c powerpack. It has everything you need to get started. You can upgrade it more by yourself piece by piece.
