Old(to me) I see a lot of military types and i am in and out of the pentagon a lot. And everytime i stop by. My mom boss gives me a magazine called "ARMY" Its got advertising for different guns and whatnot in it. Policy changes, and discussions about different policies, most of it means nothing to me. But about 6 months ago i read a 20 page breif on those things. They are making a whole lot more than just those suits too.

Yeah DB, it's old to me too. I've been tracking the development of exoskeletons for a good 2 or 3 years now since I first stubled on them but I like to share from time to time just to see what people think. The first article is pretty exciting because that means they have overcome one of their major porblems in making the suit respond fast enough. Now they just need to figure out the best fuel and make the thing to military specs and we can see these things kickin butt on CNN.

^^ I watch the military channel alot and I saw something like that.  BTW, I really did have an idea for that before I saw it.  It used a hydraulic system to assist in movement. But the government probably stole it with that mind reading device in my ear!

Inside out Six Million Dollar Man.

Is this to help paralyzed people walk?

That is amazing that people can do this now.

EDIT: The only problem I see with the military applications are problems with wear on muscles.

Anyone else see this problem because I see it as possible.

I guess maybe. I mean people aren't gonna run 20 miles an hour and not feel it later. I'd say it's more likely that the greater mobility that would be provided by the fact that the soldier doesn't feel the 80 pound pack on his back and possibly "hopping" long distances with little strain on the troops legs and back. They're working on personal helicopters and jump jet type things too.

Sumthin like this:

ps

Aliens?  Never heard of it.  Who was in it?  Anyway, I had the whole idea thought out and everything.  It was a hydrualic system that aided in movement (either to assist the handicapped or to make heavy lifting easier.) , but I was to young to do anything about it.  I am gonna be an engineer, so I shpuld have the knowledge to take advantage of my ideas (even though I don't want to be an "invertor" like as a job).  "I've got these ideas burning through my skull.  Like a hat! A hat that goes bu-weep".

Starship troopers was written in the 50's? I did not know that. I used Aliens because I thought more people would have seen that then something else.
