look my idea is to have an inflateable bunker that you could carry into
battle and if you need a bunker you have one it would be like a
speedball bunker but it would be in a pouch and connected to a 20 oz
co2 bottle
you would just flip a valve an it would inflate you could have a
bunker any where in only 20 seconds it would be best for like scnerio
games. what do you think about it?

you would have to change the rules to allow it like play kill shots only or i could make it padded to make them not break

^true..It's a good idea, but the trouble is blowing it up and rule changes. I doubt anyone would want to argue with field rules and have to blow the thing up with a bike pump.

It could always inflate the same way those emergency life rafts inflate.
I'm visualizing a speedball game of the future based on this concept:
- A larger field where the teams are not within range of each other at the beginning
- Only three permanent features
- A starting bunker at each end
- and a center structure for the flag
- Each player carries one bunker which must be left where used
- Do they play it safe and deploy it early near their own base
- or do they take a chance and set up deep in enemy territory (remember, if they are eliminated before using their bunker, it leaves the field with them)
Hmmmm.

thats actually a pretty cool idea mack, but you have to remember that
its not perfectly safe...the canisters on the life rafts are specially
designed for a downed aircraft team. if a canister ever flew off
during a game and killed someone....another strike on the wall for
paintball

Have you ever heard of that happening? The idea behind the life raft is to save people from a disaster, so they make these things to be as safe as possible so it doesn’t create more problems for the survivors, and so that even the most untrained ignorant boob can operate the thing, so in other words; I don’t think it is going to fly off, I mean when was the last time you saw a Co2 tank fly off a paintball gun while you were using it.

I didn't say I wanted to do it, I just enjoy taking impractical but intriguing ideas and modifying them. It gets other folks thinking, and sometimes something brilliant comes out at the end.
Edited Note: And sometimes (like with farm animals) something else comes out at the end.

well, during water survival last year(i go to a camp run by the Navy)
they told us to watch out if one of the canisters was banged up
my CO2 tank has never flown off, course maybe thats because its never gone down with a helicopter

That’s right, only the real damaged tanks are capable of flying off, and since there have not been any reports of Co2 tanks flying off during tournaments, I doubt that any paintball player is going to accidentally cause that kind of damage to a tank and still be stupid enough to go and use it. I think the inflatable bunker idea, using the quick inflatable technology off of life rafts, is perfectly safe, or at least just as safe as a paintball marker. Now whether it is practical or not is everyone’s own opinion.

Maybe he modified his idea to be more like a giant inflatable hamster ball that could be used similiar to the battle droid in Star Wars.
And before all the Star Wars geeks correct me, I am not sure if that is the correct name for what I am describing.
