I just purchased this:

32° BTB Rear Velocity Adjuster
This rear velocity adjuster drops in place of your rear end cap and allows
you to adjust your velocity with a simple twist.

And I was wondering, whats the deal with these. I have heard bad things
and good things. Installation is pretty simple, but what about the current
velocity screw?

Should I just leave this in?
Does it effect the new veocity adjuster? ie. am i am going to have to check
both of them?

Thanks for the info.

BTW, I am running a 98c. see my sig for specs.

you should keep it in or else it'll just run on full. By keep it in i mean the velocity screw.  If youre not supposed to change your velocity on the field, why not just save the money and use the allen wrenches when you chrono?and bravo on wasting some money, but everything else you bought is cool

Well I got it on the cheap on E-bay, and I always seem to have problems
with my velocity, so I thought instead of havin to mess with the allen
wrenches and all that I could just change it if its too low.

I play wood ball, outlaw style... so I guess it really does not matter.

Contrary to Predatorr's imagination, the RVA is more air efficient than the
stock FVA screw(front velocity adjuster). Adjusting the velocity by
changing the pressure on the drive spring is a much better way to control
air flow than slowing air down as it leaves the valve as the stock FVA
does.

On my A-5 I have a regulator, an RVA, and of course the stock FVA.
Which means I have three different things I have to keep track of when
adjusting the velocity. To adjust your RVA to the point that will give you
the greatest benefit, you'll need to take your tank off, remove your barrel,
and look down into the breach at the FVA in the valve. Screw it out until
you can only see maybe one thread sticking up into the valve. If you
unscrew it too much, you'll leave a hole that will cause turbulance and
decrease velocity. Now with the FVA nearly all the way out, put
everything on your gun and get ready to chrono. Fire a few shots and
then adjust your RVA to the desired velocity. Lock the RVA in place once
its set. You can use the FVA for minor adjustments once the RVA is set.

Cool man, thanks.

I got it in the mail the other day, so I will be putting it on when I gut my
gun to replace all the innards.

How do you adjust the velocity wiht it?  Because if you can do it without tools(by hand) then it's not tourny legal.  Course, that only matters if you play tourneys

Nah, I am not a tourney guy.

Its a rear mounted velocity adjuster. It put some tension on the drive
spring, and basically replaces the stock drive spring.

You keep the stock drive spring. The RVA is just a new end cap that will
increase or decrease tension on the drive spring, causing the hammer to
hit the valve with more or less force.
