I was wondering if I were to send in a 98 Custom to Tippmann Support to have some parts installed (like a Flatline Barrel and Expansion Chamber) how much would it cost me and how long would it take? Also, what do I have to do to send the gun in, just send it them?

I am not sure, because I always did my own work on my gun. The parts would run you around 20 for the expansion, 20 for the vertical adapter and around 100 for the Flatline.

I don't know what Tippmann charges for installation, or if they require you to pay for return shipping.

Best thing would be to call them first. (260) 749-6022

Ok, but I read in another forum that Tippmann doesn't charge for the installation, only for the S&H?

The x chamber I put on my kids 98c included the vert for $59.00... it would cost a lot more from Tippmann I think.  Buy the flatty from Tippmann and it costs like $150.00.  Buy it from 888paintball.com and pay $98.88.  The x-chamber took me about 15 minutes to install.  I haven't done a 98c flatline, but I doubt it is very difficult.  It would be a great project to do with your Dad, Uncle or Granddad... ask them... for the x all you need is a couple hand tools and a benchvise is nice.  The flatty for my A5 took all of 5 minutes to install.

I really think it is good to know your marker and try to do the work yourself if you are able.  If you ever have a failure, you will know what to do to get it going again.
