depends on the paint you're using.

A gun is not a weapon... It's a tool. Like a butcher knife, or a harpoon, or...uh, a...an alligator.

yea it depends on ur paint if u use small cal. paint that is pretty quality like Blazz and u play woodsball alot then go with the Flatline, if u just want a sim go with the m16 one, but if u want a well rounded accurate barrel and u use a varriety of paint use like a stick or jj ceramic or ultralite, but never keep that piece of junk stock barrel

Personally I'd go with a Lapco Bigshot, but whatever floats your boat man.

If not, go with the Flatline.

What do you base that opinion on? Because you couldn't properly install it right?

First of all...Tippmann Effect doesn't use it because they play speedball. Most people don't like the flatline for use with speedball.

Secondly, "The barrel unless you have exact paintball match sucks " The flatline needs small bore paintballs!! It needs space for the ball to roll through the barrel. Also, you should probably learn how to make sense.

The last point im going to even attempt to bother with is ...."I probably know more about it than you do. i know way too amny pros who told me that it sucks " Yea looks like you know more about it than me.

The "amny" pros that don't like it dislike it because of the fact that they play speedball and the flatline is primarily a woodsball barrel

Please, oh please, come back some other time for another schooling. Till then don't post.

not if you play at fields with field paint only... or if you can only get certain paint.

I had a Flatline on my model 98 and I hated it. With good small bore paint, proper installation, velocity and clean - it fired like crap. Even if it is better on the A-5 it is still no good. Something about the 6-micron finish and a straight barrel gets me about my boomstick. It’s heavy also and if you know anything about barrel harmonics, heavy is good. Take off the shroud and look at the flatline, it really only gives you a short few inches for ball stabilization after the curve, the rest of the barrel is for developing the backspin. I read a post that someone said the balls coming out of the flatline move slower and this is just foolish. You all do crono your markers right? What’s going on is that the friction between the paintball gelatin case and the walls of the barrel induce backspin. The paintball fill is a fluid and does not rotate. The air pressure change around the outside of the ball and a lift effect is created. It’s looks slower because there is less drop, but this is only an optical illusion. If you don't hold the gun level balls will fly sideways. This can help and hurt. There are a lot of conditions that will change the flight path with the flatline, play around with it and you will find that the only way you know were your shot is going is by referring to the last one.

The flat line can get them to reach out there but 90% of the time I play I engage at 30M or less and the flatline groups past that are like a stock barrels closer up. I like having a tack driver in the effective range rather then just being able to put them out there. If you play against someone who knows how to work the cover (like in woods) they will be close enough to you in no time to turn your advantage against you.

One thing about the flatline… it makes a great target.
