how about a paintball mortar? it could be like a cannon that shoots out a large paintball bomb that comes down and splatters people and the splatter counts as a hit

why did you underline mortar, then italicize bomb?
oh, um...yeah, no. That wouldn't work. Besides, its would be dangerous...id still play with it if i had one though.

Yeah, they have mortars for the scenarios at my local field, but they suck at them and end up hitting their own guys.

Mortars are fun - real ones, I mean. As
for a paintball mortar? Hard to get one that would work effectively.
Perhaps firing up a paper or cardboard canister that would spill a
bunch of brittle paintballs as it falls would work... You'd get an area
effect similar to the blast radius of an actual HE mortar shell. Tough
build a launcher and dispersal system that will work too reliably,
though. Probably the best bet would be to get one of those water
balloon launchers that'll throw a water balloon several hundred feet,
and load it with a bunch of paintballs. Realistically, though,
paintball mortars will probably never be that effective, since they'd
be too hard to reliably aim. At least with a real one you can mount it
on something that helps to aim it precisely...

I have seen paint morters at scenario games, they can launch rounds very well but arn't very efective.

ya...wut if in a game like a scenerio or somethin each team could have a special member who carried a moble mortat and had a pump for a sidearm. that would be sweet.

i made one. its a basic potato launcher, but i have cardboard
disks that go in before the paintballs, which is about 1-15 wrapped up
in a paper towel. the paper towel always either breaks apart or
falls open, allowing for a more spread out target area. its
fairly acurate up to about 150 yds, if you know how to arc it.

They use somthing better than that to carry around, its called an air cannon, they are usually shoulder fired and are far more effective than a mobile morter.
Here is agood example of one. http://corin.com/bill/paintball/aircannon/ - http://corin.com/bill/paintball/aircannon/

They would never make a mortar; especially one that shoots paint.
I know this because you can buy paintball "rocket launchers" that shoot nerf rockets. NO paint. Its wierd and blasphemous.
But have you heard of the paint ball gatling gun. Buy the sound of it, its awsome, but there have been alot of scams involving unknown dealers of these awsome guns.
