OK this is my fisrt post here so dont be mad if i did somethin wrong. Oh yea and trust me i tried searching for the answer. I have been playing with spyders and smart parts guns for years but a friend gave me a tippmann. When i shoot it i see a little cloud of co2 come out the barel. i've noticed this on another tipmann to and im wondering if this is normal or if theres some way to keep this from hapeening.

That happens to all guns when its cold out or your shooting fast. Not just tippmanns.

This is caused by shooting liquid Co2 or when its cold. SP guns and LP Spyders are regulated and this results in less liquid entering the gun. While Tippmanns are high pressure and use a relativly high flow valve.

Get the X-Core expansion chamber, or buy the Tippmann Expansion Chamber kit with the directions. They are pretty easy to install.

does liquid co2 inside the gun actually hurt anything or lessen a guns performance

The liquid hurts the internal seals because it freezes up the orings and they can crack and just get damaged. Just a little doesnt do much if any damage, but lots of liquid in every single shot will.

Liquid co2 has some negative effects. First you get velocity spikes which sucks chronoing and may not be safe to other players. The inconsistancy from this cause bad accuracy too. And you also loose shots from sucking up liquid too.

is the best way to reduce liquid co2 with an expansion chamber give your thoughts

Meh not really. An expansion chamber just slows down the liquid and gives it more time to expand. In long strings of fire you can suck up liquid co2. An expansion chamber simply prolongs the time before the liquid enters the valve, it doesnt make your gun "liquid proof".

Better upgrades for this are The Palmers Stabalizer (NO liquid gets through it, regulates to a consistant pressure, and makes your gun extremly consistant.)

An anti-siphon tube (tube bent upward inside tank so you will not suck up much if any liquid, cheap, cant install yourself.)

A remote line or remote coil (youve seen them, long line and vertical tank give liquid lots of time to expand if any gets sucked up, remotes tend to get in the way though.)

And best of all HPA (differant air source, compressed air, no liquid, very consistant, no temp effects, tanks and filling isnt cheap, but well worth it.)

This is only mostly right and only mostly for newer markers. Let me address the issues identified in reverse order:

1. Yes, shooting liquid will drain the tank much faster. This one is 100% correct.

2. Velocity spike are not caused by the liquid, far from it. The velocity spikes are actually caused by the CO2 that has been converted to a gas. Any time you are not creating either a 100% gas or 100% liquid environment in your valve you will get spikes. This is because the percentage of gas to liquid changes with each shot primarily as a result of temperature and will therefore change the pressure of each shot. And just to clarify what he meant by bad accuracy: bad distance / height accuracy. Left-to-right accuracy is all as a result of the barrel / power tube / front bolt and the shooter.

3. Lots of liquid doesn't mean you will damage your marker, though without good maintenance I will admit it can be a little harder on the O-rings. In fact 90% of my markers run 100% liquid. They not only run it well, but run liquid much better and more consistently than they run gas CO2.

Edit ... And before someone tries to flame me about my numbers look at my signature. Only my A5 is not liquid (its HPA). All my 68-Specials, my SMG-68, my SMG-60 and my SL-68 run liquid via siphon tanks. Since the original thread starter did not indicate what marker he has, we cannot assume that it will not operate on liquid. In fact, all of my markers except the A-5 are MUCH more consistent with liquid and the full-auto ones will only work with liquid.
