WARNING!!!  My Ricochet R-5 has two problems:

1) The lid pops open a lot!  I've lost a good bit of paint from this issue.  I'm not looking for suggestions like, use duct tape to keep it closed.  I'm just letting eveyone know about the problem.

2) The second time out, it got cracked on the nose by a calibrated marker shooting under 290 fps.  This was very disappointing.  It still works, but I can't believe it got cracked so easily.

I am really surprised this R5 hopper is such poor quality.  They could not have done much testing of the unit for it to have these problems.  Unfortunately, there aren't very many hopper options for the A5, and the R5's stealth look really looks good on my Tippmann.  The stock A5 hopper has a flat spot on the front that is a paintball magnet.  Mine is the smoked version.  I wonder if the black one holds up better?  Anyone have a black one and know for sure if it is better?  I picked the smoked one so I could see how much paint is left in it.

A vast majority of people have known it sucks.  It's just a marketing ploy, or hype if you will.

The desire for polyester is just to powerful.

I highly doubt that the color makes a difference in durability.

The way we pressured them into making it they had to rush the process of making it. Therefore less quality.

The lid popping open is from the blowback gas that escapes though the cyclone.

The fix i've heard several people use, is to drill several small holes in the lid so that the gas can escape without blowing the hole lid off.

Hope this helps

Not so much the color as the material... I don't think they are the same polymer... I'll look into it.
