i have been looking for a gun for some time and i never figured to look at the spyder brand. however i was in the shop and saw a pilot. it has burst and full auto and i could walk the trigger and all that good stuff. i was wondering if it was a good gun overall though.

The Pilot is good. Don't listen to the people telling you that Spyders suck. They don't. I actually like my Imagine.

Here is the link to the Kingman Forum: http://www.kingman.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php - www.kingman.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php

I would suggest that you check out the forum for the Pilot on there to see what problems it has etc. I like the Fenix, but that's just me... And Spyders would be as durable as a Tippmann, but they're made out of aircraft-grade aluminum, not steel like the Tippmann.

well this is a tippmann forum so it would probaly be best to ask that in maybe a spyder forum (if there are any)

my friend owns a pilot acs and it works fantastic, with an electronic hopper it works great, the stock barrels pretty acurate and it is capable of 20 BPS.

i really dont know why people think it sux, he hasn't had any problems with it at all ( besides going full auto with a standerd hopper and choping balls)

with an electronic hopper its great.

pluss tippmanns to other guns are like hummers to other cars their strong, durable, reliable and use a lot of gas

u cant say other guns suck just because their not as reliable as tippmanns.

Yeah, I haven't had my Spyder break down on me, but my Tippmann has lol... As for the rest, did you know that Tippmann Effect uses the Pilot?

If you wanted a response, then go with the 98 Custom with the Response Trigger. Just be sure to get an electronic hopper like a Revolution or Evolution or something like that, because I have had my Imagine outshot by a 98C with a Response Trigger...kind of embarassing...

Get a Custom Pro. With a nice small price tag, durability/reliability of a tippmann, and electronic marker, what can go wrong?

"NICE SMALL PRICE TAG?!" It's more than my Tippmann and my Spyder put together! As I keep saying, the Tippmann is reliable and durable, but so is the Spyder. If you don't believe me, then go get a cheap @ss Victor and try it!

Just went to the store last night and picked me up an A5 screw the pilot my A5 rocks. Although i hate the single trigger and the long trigger pull. I did look at the dead on blade trigger and was wondering if it has a lighter trigger pull like walkable plus will it work with the stock A5 no e-grip. finally i was wondering if the response is worth the 60 bucks, but if that blade trigger is walkable then i won't need it.

I like my Imagine, but the Fenix and the Pilot are better. How can it break that much? They are soooo easy to fix its not even funny. And the parts for them are cheap as dirt too!

ok, i don't know why im bothering to put my opinion in, but hey, whatever.

spyders do in fact suck. they are the scum of the earth. they don't deserve to be made. my friend bought two e-99's and both of them broke within four trips to the paintball park. i also have another friend with a broken e-99, and two friends who sold their imagines because they broke so much(each owned one.) i've had my a-5 for two years under decent usage and never had one problem with it. after seeing what happened to my friends, i honestly just don't trust the spyder name... im sorry to the other people who do own them, but i would just like you to know that they'll probably break...

oh and my friend with two e-99s bought an a-5 and now loves it! it outperforms the spyders by miles.

i'm just saying this so you don't buy this gun and decide that you've wasted perfectly good money when you could've gotten much more bang for the buck.

E-99s are on the bottom end of the Spyder spectrum...I haven't had my Imagine break on me yet in the year I've owned it. Of course your A-5 outperforms the Spyders! It's like $100 more! As for the bang for buck, I get a lot more bang with my Spyder than my Tippmann! As in 10bps more! And then, I still have the money I saved by buying it that I can use to get more upgrades so it'll kick an A-5's @ss! PM me if you want to carry this further.

Glad u went with an A-5, if u have or willing to save up the money, get an E-Grip with a JCS duel trigger, u wont regret it, its without a doubt the best fire power upgrade for your A-5

Bah to the Spyder.

The new IONS seem to be pretty popular (I know its smart parts same makers as the spyder) but we have a few ION's on our team and they are holding up really good, I have seen a few FPS problems but that maybee because the reg isnt broken in yet. Heck my Bob long Torpedo reg still doesnt seem to be broken in after about 15-20 cases. I'm still spiking +/- 15fps.

Just dont get a spyder or a spyder clone they are all looks and nothing but headaches.

I haven't had any headaches yet... Maybe they're a headache to you because you don't respect your markers enough to care for them...That's the only way to break a spyder.

I was looking at the e-grip and i feel it would almost be a waste becasue i can't even use the burst or full auto. anyways is the dead on blade trigger compatible with the a-5 stock or do i need the e-grip and is it a lighter trigger pull.

I personally hate spyder after i bought my immagine it shot great first game i used it took out everyone like nothing i always oil it every week and cleaned it and the second game guess wat happen everything started to break i mean everything like inside the gun like every o-ring was broken some how so i took it apart and replace them and i put the c02 tank and it starts to leak like alot but buddy my friend has a e-99 and he likes it and it looks good same wif my friend wif the victor 2 it shoot realli good for its price so i suggest if ya buy a rodeo make sure u have a good waranty on it and never buy a freakin spyder immagine(worst gun ever)

I take very good care of both my A-5's. Now stick your assumption up your patoot and go suck some paint.

Go play with your spyder and after a year or so we will see who's is working without leaking. My main A-5 is over a year old and the backup is even older and doesnt leak and either never let me down playing, I dought you can say that about any spyder. The reason I have a backup is for myself obviously or if a team mates SPYDER piece of junk or wanna-be (TES, Mongoose, etc.) is broken I let them us it.

Isnt there a spyder forum you can be at?

*God, why am I even wasting my time with these morons..... Sorry guys.

The JCS Duel trigger allows you to set the pull incredibly short, so instead of flopping your fingers around, you can almost quiver them to shoot (reaching the 15 bps cap- the usual bps limit in tourneys).

The blade trigger will work stock, just not the JCS.

Spyders are crap. The outer shell holds up fine, as long as you don't count the threading for the screws. Tippmann is not steel, it is die-cast aluminum. The internal design and internal materials is the main folly. The design is meant to be an easily mass-produced universal internals so they can manufacture at low cost and sell at a "competitive" price to make the greatest amount of profit. I guarantee Kingman can sell their guns at 50% retail price and still turn a nice profit. They could even stop selling spyders and still turn in profit (spyder clones). There are a few Tippmann clones coming out (BT) but they are just riding the wave of success Tippmann launched with its A-5 (i.e. confusing people to think they're stuff is as good and turning up quick profit). Spyders are pretty much crap. They are basically Brass Eagles with a hair more quality control.

Sure, you can keep any gun running fine. If you run and clean it between every three games and constantly oil it and maintenance it every time you use it, you could keep a Model T running fine. BUT, oil doesn't stop the wear on the brittle parts, and they will break.
