A while back someone posted listened to Christian rock groups and I heard rumours that Ratzinger is a declared enemy of rock music, and denounced many of the most important musicians as satanic or whatever in a mass in 1996, so I googled for that and found the following news item:
Hadn't heard that one before...they're sure getting more creative these days...haha. Reminds one of the Simpsons episode where Bart is informed of a Christian rock concert, and he huffs, “Everybody knows that all the best bands are affiliated with Satan.”

Budhism, Sidhartha was a prince, he gave up everything to find the middle ground of budhism. Christianity in the middle ages had a discusting amount of wealth, but the preists, the honest to god preists, they werre very very poor. The men you hear about, the bishops and the cardinals, and the french papacy. These were men that boght their positions of power, the domincans exersising the right to torture in the name of god so long as they didnt draw blood, these were men who used their power to gain vast amounts of wealth. They excomunicated someone, or burned them to death, they then acumulated their land and posesions, it was a way for evil men to gain power, most of this happened with the domincan friars during and long after the hundred years war. I agree with that, and also realize that the current major religions of the world are not as bad as they were in the middle ages and that they do do good things for the world and the communities that they are present in. I'm was just saying that most religions were founded by those in power as a way to keep themselves in power. With the exception of Budhism, which is inherintly different from the traditions of other religions. I think his views will change, in truth, its most likely that he has been in effect running the papacy for about a year now. Normaly, a popes views will change once he becomes accostomed to the duties of pope. Think of it this way, it wasnt so much, a way for people to keep power, but a way to achieve power, the preists, cardnals, and bishops where the upper class back then, they could read and write often in several languages, they spoke french, breton, and latin. Because of the tradition of prematagenture, normaly the first son would gain land and become a nobal, then the second son would become a preist or buy an earldom from his king. You remind me a lot of myself a while back. The thing you need to remember, is there is a church out there for you, christians vary, there are people that claim to be christian and are the furthest thing, and there are people that are very good people. Churches varry too, it can be difficult to find a church that you feel comfortable with. The important thing is to find a church that suits you. I come from a long line of High church Catholosism, a friend of mine comes from Low church southern baptists. I never thought I would go against a religious leader from me religion. But I am a metal head (atreyu, korn, sabbath etc.), and nothing will change that. I work in a church, so i hear about a lot of things that go on in families, i cant say anything about the things that go on, but it isnt the music that messes kids up, they listen to the music because when they do, they find solace in the fact that there are other people in just as much or equal pain as they are in.
