maybe not free. Go to any sporting goods store that has gun cleaning stuff. Wal-mart, K-mart. Buy Hoppes 9

Just go to a sporting goods store or your local paintball shop and pick up some Hoppes 9 or Gold Cup Lubricant.. or Shocker Lube if you wish (one of my friends uses it on his 98 for some odd reason).. Hoppes 9 will cost you 2-3 bucks.

Hoppes 9 is the way to go.  Pretty cheap too.

I really like Hoppes 9. I also have used the Extreme Rage stuff and it seems to work well.

Kind of like Rain-X for metal. Ask them for a free sample and use a hair dryer to treat your marker. Then don't use oil unless you have to, since crap sticks in oil.

Uh, won't Hoppes cause the O-rings to degrade?

Just remember one thing:

Never, ever, ever, ever, EVER, use WD-40.

Or Ducttape. I proved the saying "ducttape and WD-40 is all a redneck needs in life" untrue this way.

Huh, no kidding. I thought Hoppes was oil based.

Well, you learn something everyday. Thanks for the info.

Did you mean petrolium based?  Petrolium based oils and solvents will break down rubber O-rings.  Hoppes No.9 is mineral oil and is safe for O-rings and rubber parts.

Isn't Hoppes silicone oil?

NO, Hoppes is a mineral oil. And besides, most orings in use today aren't natural or Buna rubber. They are a petroleum based polymer. A synthetic. Unless Tippmann is trying to make a dollar off every owner every year, I doubt they would ship their guns with something that will damage them.
