Well about 6 months ago I sold my tippmann 98 with a vertical adapter, carbon fiber barrel, and expo chamber for about 200 dollars. With the money I made from that I bought a 2003 vert feed autococker. I had been so excited about this gun and have wanted an autococker for some time.
My friend has a 98c with an all-american barrel on it and i have found that his gun is always laying out fire from a further distance than i can fire back. To top it off i play woodsball and my cocker is red.
Well to say the least i have been displeased with the range of the gun but it has a huge rate fo fire. I am thinking about coming back to tippmann to purchase a new "sniping" marker.
Does anyone have any tips on what i should get? im going to try to keep the price around 250 dollars.

Should i take the money im willing to spend into a new tippmann and try to upgrade my cocker? im just so confused right now oh well.

Well all regular barrels fire the same distance. So I don't see why the 98c with an AA is shooting farther than you. Turn your velocity up and that will help. If you really want to fire long range then get a 98c with a Flatty.

I tried to up my velocity a bit but the balls started to go wacky curving every which way and such so idk... I may just end up buying a new barrel probably a boomstick or a jr freak

Yes, you can. They are pretty hard to find, but they can be found.

I have never found a 'cocker that works worse than a Tippmann. Probably you messed it up, and it needs some work. Talk to your local 'cocker tech, or send it out. There's user error involved here, and you working on it ain't gonna help.

What's your setup? If you tell me that, I can ask you some questions so you can troubleshoot. Also, are you running HPA, or CO2? Most helpful would be to know:
-Vertical Regulator
-LPR
-Ram
-3-way
-Trigger frame
-Hammer+IVG setup, with number of threads in you have it set at if stock
-Bolt
-Barrel length, bore size if you know it
-Valve and springs if upgraded

looks like you can actually put different barrels in it too.

If i were you, I would go for a HPA tank. It will give you better efficency.

If you do get a new barrel go for the full Freak kit or the Jr. Freak kit. The Jr. if you play woods, and the full for tourney.
