i was lookin at gettin an Ion but i was readin some reviews on the Impulse and i hear its a really good gun. so i just wanna kno what u guys think. if u guys can give me some advice or experiences i would appreciate it. i have about $300 to $500 to spend i might be able to pull a lil bit more out since my b-day is comin up. -------------

The Impulse is an outdated gun. It was a great gun in its day, but that day has passed.
it's way too heavy It's expensive to upgrade from stock, Go to pbreview.com and check them out. I say ION -------------

Not really a debate anymore, The Impulse requires upgrades to get it up to Ion performance right out of the box. You're realistically looking and close to $800-900 for the Imp. and $450 for the Ion with upgrades. At least double the price and Imps can be twitchy which is something I haven't seen in the Ion. |

No its definitly not a good gun trust me I owned one and I'll never buy another one again. As someone else said the Impulse it really old and out dated. The gun is a unrealiable brick. Theres so many things wrong with it its not funny. The Impy is heavy and unreliable, the reflective eye system is junk and it only works half the time, The max flow is big and outdated, the ball detents just pop out at any random time, you need a LPR because even when the pressure is regulated the pressure is still to high for the cheap ghetto rigged solnoid, it needs a million upgrades to work, it needs a new feedneck,new trigger, new ball detents every week, a new board, a LPR, all new internals..the gun is just a POS end of story. -------------

Scar, not a POS, just out of its prime. If it was a POS then pro teams like the Ton-Tons wouldn't have used them for so long -------------

Another marker to consider in the Ion price range would be the '04 B2K w/ PDS.

pff yea right the B2K is better then the ION and the Impulse. Its fast, small pretty light, has a way better eye system, comes with a three way adustable trigger, and its more reliable. The Impulse is heavy and slow, has a sloppy trigger pull, a trashy eye system and its an unreliable brick. The Ion is much better. You'll have a reg that constantly leaks,hoses that constantly blow and other random problem. The B2k is alot better then the Impulse and ION. -------------

just go with the Ion. My friend got an impulse w/o vision and it is a blender. He hates the stock trigger and it is big and heavy. Just go with the Ion. -------------

Thats not a suprise. Its a blender because SP guns are a POS!!! They are not good guns and the ION isn't much better. Its just as unreliable and just as junky as your friends Impulse. -------------

Carface..wow your what 10 years old. My "problem" with Smart Farts is they're guns are so over rated but they're ALL A POS. The Impulse is junk, the nerve is junk, the shocker is junk, and the ION is junk. People make thier guns out to be soo great but they're unrelaible trash. -------------

Haha thats funny. The Alias and A-bom is lighter and faster then any of the SP gun out there not to mention alot more reliable. It wouldn't beat a Timmy even if it was actually working (which is rare for SP guns.) I think my sides will stop hurting soon from the sheer stupidity and ignorance of that post. -------------

Get the ion for sure. Don't listen to Scarface, his opinion is totally biased. He keeps comparing the ion to $1000+ guns which is ridiculous. Of course the ion isn't as good as a gun 4x its price, but an upgraded one will be. If you want to compare the ion to timmies then make it an ion with a new reg, new trigger, QEV, new barrel, unimount, new feedneck, and 1 of the new boards that will soon be coming out and you have gun that is as good, if not better than, a timmy that is twice its upgraded price (the price increase is largely because of the fancy milling).
All in all, get an ion and up it to your personal preferences and i guarantee you won't be disapointed. ------------- Signatures are **edited** |

I never compared a ION to a Intimidator Bugg did, get your facts straight. Even an upgraded ION will never be as good as a high-end electro gun like an Intimidator or Angel.
If you need to add all that stuff to make it as good as other guns they whats the point of buying the ION in the first place? It just proves that the ION is a POS. If it was a good gun it would come with a good trigger, board, reg...bla bla bla.
Maybe....if its not taking a dump -------------

First off, what expierence do you have with ions (probably very little)? Secondly, why won't an upgraded Ion be able to keep up with a timmy? What performance differences are there? What makes on worth 4x more than the other (besides milling)? If you are gonna keep flaming the ion then please present some facts other than "its hoses will blow off," and "Its a POS." And also the ion doesn't need those upgrades I listed. Granted it will perform much better with them and they would make it more fair when comparing it to a timmy, but it doesn't perform poorly without them. ------------- Signatures are **edited** |

A timmy is capable of 20 some BPS, an ION, 17 BPS, with new boards coming out soon. An ION weighs less thenmost timmys, onyl Abomb and Russian beat it in weight.
Last I checked there wasn't much difference between 17 bps and 20 bps scarface. Just empties your hopper a bit faster... But I have shot plenty of timmies, and I do like them, but it comes to price/ability comparison, ION gets more bang for the buck. Some stores refuse to sell timmy's couse of how often they break... -------------
