first off you dont ask to become one (asking how to become one counts too). the star system is broken but i have a sneaking suspicion they fixed it when the forum was down for maintenance. i duno, ask reb. but you get higher in rank by being a smashing good person, helping everyone, not flaming or ridiculing, you get the idea. btw shouldnt you know this by now? there have been at least 50 of these topics and youve been here for quite a while now -------------

BAsically you have to have a knowledge of paintball so you can help people with their questions. YOu ahve to read the stickies so you know what is expected of you here. Follow those rules. Don't flame, ne polite, and attempt not to get strikes. Gettting strikes basically comes from not following the rules. Believe me, it is not worth to troll, or to spam, or do anything stupid. |

It must be different for everyone. I got the standard night in the tent but I guess that wasn't good enough because I was kept prisoner in his underwear drawer for 30 days and 30 nights untill Reb found me there. You can't. I am pretty sure the promoting system is down and is not going to be back up anywhere in the furture. Also, since you asked, you wont get the next star. if it were based on posts there are mods here with less posts than some people who aren't, and there platinum members with less than gold and there are members with more than gold

| At least most of you got your gold stars back when the new forum came into play. I deployed to the Middle East, finally after a few months get a chance to log on to this place, and find my second star gone. I thought that I'd done something wrong, but couldn't figure out what, since I hadn't been on in a few months. I did bother someone and ask what happened but didn't get a reponse until someone else on a topic similar to this one finally solved the mystery. It's not a very big deal, but I just wanted to know what I did wrong, if anything and was slightly annoyed that nobody bothered to tell me. Whatever, such is life. Worse things have happened to me in the last couple months. |

If you need to know what you did wrong, pm a mod, they most likely will be able to help you alot better than anyone here because it is they who take and give stars. Also, is it possible that somone hijacked your account and did somthing to get your star taken away? P.S. Just wanted to thank you for serving your country man. The Star System, What Is It? I have seen many posts about this. People keep asking about how do I get a second Star, or what do the Stars mean? Well I decided to make a post about this. What the Stars mean: Guest - Status that you are put down to by a Mod for spamming, selling, posting inappropriate links including Outwar, and just being annoying. Standard Member: Your new to the forum. The Regulars Forum is locked to you. Gold Member: You may have been here awhile and you know your stuff. The Regulars Forum is unlocked for you. Platinum Member: You have no more special privileges. There is nothing else to "Unlock". But, you get a little more respect. Moderator: You are the forum " Watch Dog". You can kick people off of here, close topics, and promote or demote other members "Status". Administrator: The 5 Star: He is the Forum God, and there is only one, Jason. He can do just about anything that he wants. How to EARN, or lose Stars: You can get more Stars be being nice, helping out others, and being here for awhile. You can lose Stars by swearing, flaming, spamming, stupid user names, and posting Outwar or porn links. Post Count: Post Count does not matter for becoming Gold or Platinum Member. Just because you have 173839 posts, doesn't mean that you should be Platinum. Some people have over two thousand Posts and are still Standard Members. | The only extra thing they really do is open the regulars forum so you can post there, and being human, the more stars a person has the more others seem to respect them, since they obviously must know their stuff. And on this board, they usually do have a clue, and are willing to share their knowledge and be helpful. |
