Seriously guys, this crap needs to stop.
Impulse has a 1900+ KB sig. That is outrageous. There are at least half a dozen long-standing very active members, who know the rules, with either sigs or avatars well above 400k. Go re-read the rules, people. If you want them changed, you need to petition the mods, not arbitrarily break them because there aren't enough mods here to enforce them. Oh, and HondaXR, selling on the forum is still against the rules. Get that crap out of your sig. Really people, if you think you don't need adult supervision to be on here, act like it. Police yourself. |

In my defense, when I first looked at the size it said 180kb, then it somehow jumped up to 400+. I got a smaller one now....

My old one got taken away, although when I get home I'll make it smaller and host it again. Have a substitute until the time being. I'd assume a majority of the people here have DSL or higher, so I really don't have a problem although I do try to keep it lower. But my avitary still works ------------- |

Yeah glassjaw, the rule for Avatars is something like 15k. Yours is 275k.
Good job. _Edit_ And Niq, I don't mean everybody, but some people have really got to figure this out. Thanks for being one of those that has common sense. |

I have not noticed too many outrageously huge sigs. I think it shouldn't as big as a deal as you have made it unless it is seriously slowing down the forum.

Im a tad over the size limit, but I dont think anyone really cares that mine is 200x200. Only once did I go over size limit, and that was my dancing fetus sig. -------------

Then you should ask the mods to change the rules. This isn't a democracy, but your opinion could matter. As it is, this is the last posting of Sig rules I could find.

While I'll gladly admit to yelling at the offending parties, you aren't one of them, and I do not mean to sound like I'm including you in the last few paragraphs' ravings.:/Edit:
It doesn't matter which mod is where, rules are rules. If we can't be bothered to obey them, we aren't worth moderating. Think about it, would you beat off the trolls, move topics for noobs, kill bots, and try to keep this place an all around nice place to hang out(regardless of race, creed, or internet connection) if the "upstanding regulars" can't be bothered to do such simple things as follow a filesize requirement in their sigs? Personally I think its pretty pathetic, and a better testament to this forums problems than anything anyone has brought up so far. The fact that forumers in good standing are doing it, and the majority are willing to let it slide, shows how dishonourable the vast majority here are. What does it matter if theres a rule about something so trivial? Does it hurt you to follow it? No. There are plenty of other cool things out there to rip off that are under the limits. Does it hurt you to break the rule? Yes. It shows disrespect for Tippmann, disrespect for the mods, and disrespect for your fellow forumers. Its like someone asking you to take your shoes off as you enter their home. Are your shoes going to hurt the carpet? Probably not. Do you do it anyway, because you respect their ownership of their home, and their harmless little rules? Yes. All rule-book-beating aside, large sigs annoy me personally. Sigs and avatars are supposed to be something to help define you to the people you are speaking whith, not a place to post your own "cool vid of the week". Just make a post linking those things, or better yet, get a geocities site or your own blog and put them there. It wastes my bandwidth and serves me no purpose. Guess what, I don't come here to see your sigs, or your avatars. The fact that you force these large, annoying wastes of resources on me puts you on the same level as email spammers and pop-up ad writers. How many here hate those, and the people behind them? If you come here with a grossly huge sig, I put you on the same list of wasteful excuses of human flesh. Fourtunately for most spammers and pop-up(and under) coders, I can't yell at them for it. I can yell at you for it, and will continue to do so until I'm listened to. Its my right as a customer, a forumer, and a user of a (sometimes) free internet. And guess what else? I've got the rules on my side. |

But daxed, the rule says 150kb sig, and I had a 148 and it wa still deleted. That's simpyl beacsue it had LB on it, no other reason -------------

You said avatar, not sig. 100k is the limit for avas.
If your sig was under the limit and removed, I suggest you contact a mod about it, as it isn't a size issue. Also, seeing as it isn't a size issue, I would like you to leave it out of this thread. Make your own for the mods to reply to, or take it up with them in private. |

Good for you Dazed, I agree with you. I dont care too much about sig size personally, but I do get pissed when the sigs are huge and its content isnt worth the slower bandwidth is causes me. My porn downloads are much more important than crappy sigs.
Since when size file size limits increase? The rule used to be 50K and 350 by 150. -------------

One more thing? Where are all the huge sigs. I hardly ever come across them. Are we talking width and height issues, cuase I can spot those easy.... I am lost as to there the large file size ones are. -------------

If you see anything that is extremely high quality or graphics intense,
you can bet money that it exceeds the size limits. impulse is one,
glassjaw is another. There are tons.

Eh I tend to hit adblock pretty quickly at work, so I can't give you many names right off the bat. No one has a sig there, unless its small and cool. I thought about starting a list, but decided that it was way too much effort, again, if these idiots can't police themselves to atleast some extent, it isn't worth my time.
I don't care so much about height and width, I can get over that(although they can be annoying when too much enthusuiasm is put into them), but the bandwidth hogs bother me. Again, its nothing but spam, and the people using them are just as bad as the people who code 14 advertisment pop-ups into their site. I don't come here to see someone bouncing off a Sup Air bunker 14 times in the same thread. Nor someone doing any one of various stupid dances. Nor people setting themselves on fire. Well, sometimes I do, but I want to have the option of clicking a link, and killing my bandwidth myself. |

I still have 56k/Dialup. Thanks for all of you kind enough to keep your sizes down... Its really not the pixel size that messes with me, honestly unless its grotesquely huge to the point it takes up an entire screen I could care less if its ___ x ___ or whatever. Its you people with .gif and stupid little animation sigs with huge file sizes that lag down my internet and make the forum run slow for me. And for all you people saying "ZOMG UR FAULT U STILL HAVE TEH DIALUP" You can come work my job for me and pay my bills, thank you very much.... -------------

The rule is likely in place to cover Tippmann's ass. They don't need
some person getting ripped off. Then whning and complaining that this
