...Is That Limp Bizkit's New Album is Just As Bad, If Not Worse,
Than All the Other Ones.

Review by -ProDigY-

Track One - Propaganda:
Okay, Bugg, I've got to hand it to you on this one. When I first turn this
song on I was skeptical, but that didn't last long.
My skepticism quickly turned to pure giddyness the instant the first guitar
chimed in on this catchy tune.
"What's this?" I asked myself, practically shaking in my chair out of sheer
excitement, "Distorted power chords?! An overproduced, yet still
fashionably dirty sound?! An almost insultingly simple rhyme scheme*
enhanced with broken, meaningless lyrics?! - By God!
We've got a hit, here!"

(*Which, I'll add, Durst still manages to screw up.)

The fact that Durst tries his hand at politics in this song should be
enough to set off a red flag telling you, "DON'T BUY THIS ALBUM!". I
emphasise the "TRIES" portion of the previous sentence, by the way. This
is one of the few songs I've ever heard that means absolutely nothing -
Even the worst pop songs have some emotion and meaning behind
them...With this song, though, it's almost as though Durst turned on the
news, wrote down some words he didn't understand, threw in some
obscenities, and tried to build a song around it.

After about two minutes the song comes to an end as Freddy whines an
out-of-tune,

"Who is falling
and faded slowly
you don't know me
but I made you"

About 100,000,000 times over and over again. If Durst's singing voice
isn't enough to make your ears bleed, the fact that he repeats this same
cliché, pretentious verse for twenty minutes will be.

This song gives the listener a pretty good idea of what's soon to follow.
Simply awful.

Track Two: The Truth
Wait, didn't I JUST hear this same song? Oh wait, nevermind - it just
sounds EXACTLY THE FREAKING SAME.

How can you listen to this song and not feel insulted? It's like he's writing
the worst music ever and not only is he getting away with it, but he
expects us to feel for him .....!? How does that work?
Five words: "salt in an open wound", my friend.

This song truely brings out the sheer horror that is Durst's songwriting.
Suffice it to say that Fred Durst has probably never heard of the words
"Metaphore", "Symbol", or "Descriptive Language".

Track Three: The Priest
You know, I started writing a review for this song and stopped midway
through when I came to a shocking realization.

This is the worst song I've ever heard in my life - And I've heard William
Shatner's cover of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds".

I could write a goddamn thesis on all the things that suck about this
song. It's almost impressive that Durst was able to write
a song SO AWFUL.

Part Two will come later tonight when I regain the courage to listen to the
second half of this truely horrendous album.

So help me god.

One of my favorite parts in "The Truth" was when Fred threw a Ghetto
spin on The Lord's Prayer and repeated it over and over with full choir
singing backup.

Righteous, man.

WHy not? This isn't cinsidered fighting, and you did ask for it

I'll keep it short and sweet:

I like Most of the songs on the new cd, save for The Key and The Surrender.
I don't like the key because all he does it cuss and rant in it, kinda like ced
I don't like the surrender, because like the Unbiased Review said, Fred can't sing slow and softly.

But, I do like the guitar rifs on all the other songs.

I do like what Fred is saying, because like I always say, it's whats being said, not how it's said.

He talks about a lot of deep stuff inside the cd. Let me quote just one.

"Who gives a *crap* about what I like?
who gives a *crap* about who listens?
As long as I'm here, as long as you know you can keep me here
For whenever you get lost or you need an excuse to cover up your intentions
You hate that I express how I'm feeling
You hate that you relate to this *stuff*
You hate that I'm a tick
A mother*crapping* tick you're finding hard to forget! "

-------------

Posted By: Frozen Balls
Date Posted: 05 May 2005 at 6:29pm
So your idea of 'deep' lyrics are someone acknowledging that everyone else thinks he sucks?

Holy crap.

Well, they aren't really that mainsteam. Though they have been on MTV. I don't see how you can judge a band by basing how big they are by if they have been on MTV or not. That is just plain ignorant.

Good Job getting your music advice from MTV...that's almost as funny as learning politics from Comedy central or MTV

Promised I wouldn't argue about it anymore, but screw it

Soldout? Then tell me why they chose to go down a different path with the new cd? A path that they said would lose many fans?

And an even greater point, why didn't they advertise the new cd if they had sold out? Couse they havn't sold out, thats why. They could have gotten a few commercials aired. They could have not refused to do an MTV interview.

Wow, that's dumb.

Bouncing Souls
Anti Flag
Big D and the Kids Table
Catch 22
Flogging Molly
Dropkick Murphy's
Pennywise
NOFX
Sublime

Name one that probably doesn't have as many fans.

Most aren't as known because they are not MTV, but have as many fans.

MTV IS BULL**edited**. LB is good, I havnt heard the new album but have all the old stuff and enjoy it. So  a band are sellouts if the go to MTV, then Atreyu are sellouts, Slayer, even Ozzy is a sellout. I know there are atreyu fans here. So admit your bands are sellouts.

Whats wrong with you.

By that theory:

Sucky bands dont sell alot of records ,

LB sold alot of records,

Thus, LB must not be sucky.

Besides that theory is flawed. The bands that sell that many albums are crappy, radio-whored bands that make music to be rich and are made by big companies trying to get rich.
