I got my RT and ive not really been using it because i let my local proshop put it in and i dont know what im doing. I need to tune it but i cant get it to go full auto or even slightly so. Im turning the flow screw all the way till its really hard to pull and then backing off but i cant get it to go auto at all. Im really pissed off now and i need help or im gonna introduct my tippy to my sledge.

Whoa there, if you're that frustrated you can send it to me instead of
smashing it. The RT is a little tricky. You have to put
just the right amount of pressure to get it to operate as full
auto. I'm guessing that you would have checked it for leaks, but
I'm going to mention it anyhow. Check it for leaks. Are you feeling the trigger attempt to bounce when you fire? it should feel like a tiny little kickback. If you feel that then it is operating correctly, and you simply must train your fingers to find the RT's sweet spot. When you find it, you'll be quite pleased with yourself. |

Don't do something foolish like damaging the marker. All you have to do is find the tiny adjustment screw sticking out of right side of your marker near the rear. It had the little gas tube running to it. Tighten this screw in to start. Then, slowly (like 1/4 turn) unscrew and try to get it to bounce. Slowly take up the slack in your trigger until it discharges, that distance you covered with trigger pull is as far back as you want to pull it. Keep turning the screw out until the rate of fire is what you want. On mine it seems easier to sweetspot with the screw in further, but shoots faster with the screw out more. Eventually if you loosen the screw too much, it woun't respond, find your range and stick the screw in your prefered spot. On mine when I dry fire, the rate of fire is a little faster then when it is loaded. Therefore, I would set it with only gas and no paint, then load some paint and fine tune it. If this doesn't work go back to your proshop and vent your frustrations to them, since they didn't install it properly. I like my RT because I can go from semi to full auto without changing anything. As you start you will most likly shoot in bursts and have to release the trigger and bring it back again once it stops firing. After some practice you will be able to sustain full auto as long as you want. It's worth a little practice. When I first got mine I noticed in my next game that I wasn't shooting as well with it as I had when I was testing it. This has to do with me and my trigger control, not the RT. Just get some practice with it, it's not hard... soft trigger finger! ------------- Think and give them all you have from the beginning, and never weaken! |

The silver screw in the back of your gun and not the black one closest to the trigger is where you tune it right?

I am not sure how it looks on the 98C but I can tell you about my A-5. The adjustment screw is the one that is closer to the rear, just above the grip (not the trigger group.) The screw and screw head are tiny for the adjuster, the one to ignore is bigger. Both of the screws on mine are silver. When you say "black one" I trust you don't mean velocity adjuster... read your manual or get one from this site. ------------- Think and give them all you have from the beginning, and never weaken! |

Well your already half way there since your adjuster is all the way in and the pull is hard. From here you slowly unscrew the adjuster at 1/4 turn intervals while firing at each adjustment. Keep doing this untill you get a controllable full auto. And make sure your tank isnt low.
