This is a bit sketchy, but bare with me. A while ago someone was asking for money to buy a forum member a marker that he wanted. The forum member had surgery or something along those lines, everyone chipped in to buy him the marker, there was a card circulating, etc. What ever happened to that? I donated $50.00, and never saw pictures, or even heard about it again. yes, it was Slothbutt. he got an Angel, but i dont quite remember if
that was because of donations. I know county donated something too.

The kid had cancer or something... I guess some of us are more generous than others. But I guess if you had 50 dollars, it'd go for a carbon fiber grill plate or something that's just as wasteful. People donate money to charities all the time. They don't know where
the money is going. It is legal for none of it to go towards that
specific cause, it can go right to the owners pocket. I've donated a lot more money than 50 bucks to people I haven't met before.

Yes the money went to slothbutt. Yes he had Cancer. Leukemia to be exact. Yes the money and the tank were sent to him. I am sure that I have a copy of the cancelled check somewhere. That way no one can accuse hedge or myself of stealing the money. County donated a tank. I have pics of that too. If we are going to start the accusations of people stealing money again I am not going to be a very nice person. Yes he is still alive. He is on aim every night. I will tell him everyone was looking for him on the forums. I got accused of stealing the money so you know when the topic comes up and you say something like 'I hope the money didnt go to some greedy persons pockets' I get a bit offended.

hey guys
First off I'd like to thank all of you that donated. I did get the money and a HPA tank. Cyndy and the other organizers did a great job. It was great to know that you where thinking about me when I was going through tough times with leukemia. It has almost been 2 years sense I was diagnosed and I am still going through treatment. I am actually going up to Stanford in a few weeks to get things prepared for a bone marrow transplant, but hopefully that won't be needed. It's wasn't really up to me to follow my word on the donation part. I had no idea that it was going on. It was not set up or organized by me. From what I know Cyndy was put in charge of collecting donations and sending them to me and she did just that.
If you were around at the time you would have seen the whole story. It wasn't like people donated blindly. I was fairly well known and posted everyday. Their was not 32,515 members, it was a smaller community. Is it odd that I don't remember her? I remember the Sloth thing, but back then[when I was a lurker ], I was even poorer than now. Glad we did some good stuff for him-wish I had cash to give to good causes, but I have enough trouble paying off lunch. Great thing about eBay is it lets you get paintball stuff cheap.
