Ok, has anyone had the experience of using the both of them? I'm liking the CCM Graphite Kit, but I'd have to change my adapter to Cocker threading. But the Powerlyte Scepter System will be easier to put on my gun. Will I lose any performance with the powerlyte?

Definately the Sceptor, friends got one and they are pretty sweet barrels.

Did you happen to notice how the internal finish was? (smoothness)

Huh.

Why is it whenever I post a question, no one can answer it?

Most people on these forums have never owned any other marker besides a tippmann, so there isnt much knowledge about high end items.

Or some people dont feel the need for a barrel kit, like me.

At least nothing more intricate than the J+J Edge kit.

I've heard all sorts of good things about the Scepter kit, never heard of anyone with the CCM kit. Either way, just about any barrel without nicks should work fine, the reason you're picking up a kit in the first place is to match paint and bore size, which is way more important than the smoother finish. Both will probably be anodized just like every other paintball part out there, and should shoot fine unless there are nicks.

YWSM, this is for my Tippmann A-5. Maybe I should mosey over to a 'cocker forum and ask?

Sure, I could pick up any kit to match the bore size. But the finish is very important- my Stingray II barrel has a smooth finish (via 6 years ago technology) and still shoots crappier even with a bore match than my Dye Ultralight with a good bore match. Bore match is part of it, and the finish of the barrel is the kicker. I'm looking for teeth-bleeding consistency from a barrel kit, and not a freak (I've heard way too many gripes and complaints about it.)

I think I've decided not to go for the CCM- it only comes with four inserts.

However, now I'm looking at the ACI kit. It seems it's quieter than the Powerlyte and a tad more durable (stronger inserts, better case). However, I can't find much on the internal finish. It, however, is short one bore size, and comes with next to useless front sizes (12", 14", 16").

Sorry guys, I think I just answered myself. Now I remember why I don't post questions- I end up answering it myself.

After asking around much more, the CCM is a fantasy barrel that is hard to attain for the reason that it's so good. I think I'm dumping the Powerlyte and going for the CCM. I've already ordered another "hard to get" barrel kit for my fiance, the SM-2 by Sanchez Machining. I do, however have one last question. What's an Orbium 3? Is this some kind of composite metal that is better than anodized aluminum?
