Ive owned these guns in order wgp ranger (they dint make these any more there orginal) tippmann a-5 with dead on bullet drop foward, dbl triggger,ricochet r5 and lapco bigshot a triton 2 (relly sux and doesent even work but i got it for free) and a WGP 2005 superstock with a dye mini drop and mre stuff to come) |

I've got a Tippmann SL-68 II that i've owned since 1994 that still works as good as the day i bought it. I've got a friend who plays speedball who has had his impy for 2 years, and its always acting up, the same can be said for my other friend whos had an angel fly for a year and spends more time working on it, then using it. Tippmanns are not "noob" guns. They are rugged markers that are made to last forever and perform greatly, which they do. 2 of the 3 of my tippys are over 10 years old and work like a champ, my speedball friends would not be able to make the same claim about their "high end" markers. -------------

The arena of speedball comes from the concept of having a match with constant paintball firefight. The equipment in speedball has evolved to adjust for that. The problem is that people enjoy more then just the 30 seconds necessary of firefight to eliminate an aggresive opponent. Most play and enjoy games that allow you more freedom. Tippmann markers won't let you down, and that is what matters most at the end off the day. ------------- Think and give them all you have from the beginning, and never weaken! |

doctor volcom is a hard core speedballer and that's fine, so don't bother trying to teach him anything about woodsball. it's the same with ion owners. the ion is a good marker so far, no more problems with it than a tippmann, but it's only been around for what 2 months and the 98's and a5 have been out for years. what sells the most TIPPMANN - i've made my point. those people only come to forums like this to cause trouble, and we let them. if we don't respond to there dumb comments - which even they know are dumb then maybe they go where people like them think like them. enough said  ok, i have a: 98custom - first marker  diablo mongoose - second marker  phamtom pump - third marker  a5 - not yet but that's next ------------- |

Doctor Volcom: I'm truely sorry that you bought into the hype. People that play in the speedball arena, "seriously", have become a statistic for the "good" companies to loot and plunder. Why do you need that Timmy? Because your outgunned, want to be cool, have to put out a strand to hit something? It's the same reason that children want the newer better toy: They are told that it is necessary. If a person can have as much fun in the woods as on an air field, great!
If you play paintball and it's "serious", then I really do feel sorry for you. I play speedball too, and have several paintball guns. When I play speedball you will usually find me with a pump, and around 30-40 paintballs. Do I have fun? - Yeah. Remember many experianced players are able to switch format and still thrive. JEEZ, owned enough guns? I have owned (from oldest to newest) 1.a brass eagle talon ghost (from walmart) and i owned it for about a month or two until i went with a friend who owned a spyder 2.then a got an orion (from walmart) for about 8 or 9 months, then i decided to upgrade again 3. A tippmann A-5 w/flatline (i got this about 3 or 4 months ago) then abot 2 months ago i got an expansion chamber and a double trigger, then about 1 month ago i sold flatline and got a j&J ceramic (i loved my flatline, but it took to long to take off when i was "in battle" and needed my barrel cleaned, also i wanted some extra money) ------------- http://www.freewebs.com/paintball_things - novice paintball help (If you own a tippy and your new to paintball, this site may help) Jesus is my friend DO NOT say"sniper"here! |

i play speedball with a pump...even stock class at times... also i have played a few turneys with a 98 and we took 1st place (my 98 a stock 98 and a spyder clone vs cockers and bushys)

The majority of people do want the high end guns for the "cool" factor. As far as the pump=bunkered thing, do some research on the topic. You will find that many all stock class teams have won 1st in speedball tourney's using pumps. If you are playing paintball as a "job", where it isn't fun anymore, I do pity you. First my trusty Talon pump. I learned to really make it happen with that thing since I was so young and couldn't afford much past paint and CO2 cartridges, and there wasn't much else out to buy available to me. Then I got a little older and a job, picked up my 98 when they first came out. Over the next while I put a Flatline on it, and a vertical tank adapter (what was I thinking - no more prone). I may have done some other minor modifications, but don't remember now... sold it to my brother's friend after highschool. For the past couple years and presently, I have my A-5. I could afford a lot more now but I refuse to spend that kind of money on a paintball marker. It is not necessary to enjoy the sport and do well. I bought my girlfriend an icon-x for around $60 and she has no problems. If I didn't know her I wouldn't think she is a new player on the field. I spent more on her mask so that she could see, then I did on her marker. I wanted her to get out there and play, then decide what she wants. ------------- Think and give them all you have from the beginning, and never weaken! |

its true... they're completely different spectrums of the sport. but i have to shoot down some myths... mostly about the dye comments... granted, their stuff is expensive, but honestly, my matrix is one of the best guns i have shot. real fast and quite efficient with the evolve kit. and i picked it up for 700... which is a good deal for what it has on it. anyway... I sometimes play speedball with the sl-68 and woods with my trix... and I hold my ground in both situations. so all of you who bash the other kind of play... and say it's for newbs... well... that's your opinion, closed minded opinion, but opinion none the less. |

The reason why dynasty and other PRO teams dont shoot tippmanns is because (if you knew anything about how to run a business) they shoot whatever thier sponsor puts in thier hands. If SP gaves dynasty a pump gun to play with, guess what, dynasty will play with teh pump. They have no choice. Woodsball takes a different skill then speedball. Speedball you have to know about lanes, bunkers, and timing.(which i bet you know NOTHING about) Woodsball you have to be stealthy, have steady hands, and know how to use your surroundings.
Guess what, a own a high end gun, and you are just trying to be cool. Thats the problem with speedballer today, you all are hot-headed, wannbe, punks. (BTW, i never play woodsball, only speedball, and even in some tournys, so dont you dare call me a woodsballer) |

Speedballers are a bunch of kids with ADD that can't stay concentrated enough to use stealth. A crappy low end gun, Guess what, I could beat you with A blade, tippmann, spyder, hell, even a broken spyder i know i could beat you one on one. Ill even let you pick any gun you want. You want the fastest gun in the world, It won't matter, since you have no idea about speedball tatics (and no, blind firing, and spraying and praying are NOT tatics) Sorry, I dont play woodsball.

Markers: 98c impulse A4 fly dm4 alias 05 shocker (current) Dr. V your such a cool e-thug! And you think your classic timmy is a high end marker? In this age a classic is on the lower end of mid. And I bet that a lot of these guys have more money in there A-5's and 98c's than u do in both your markers. Woodsball and Speedball are two different things. The reason they don't buy dm5's and timmys is because they have no use for that kind of speed. Its all preference. And to call everyone here newbs is crazy. Your probley a newb. Your marker doesn't make you a newb...what makes you a newb is your experience. Great example is a local series at a local field that i go and watch. Kids that have been playing a month and a half get there parents credit cards and buy 3 dm5's and crossfire hpa tanks. They don't even have any nice gear. They where jt nforcers and 5 or 6 year old jerseys with jeans. And another team only been playing for 3 months. They have a alias,dm5,ripper 2 timmy. Brand new c5 gear, invisions etc. Sad thing is those teams gets 11th and 12th (out of 12 teams) every event. And a team with all tippmanns and about 3 years of experience beats them every time. Thats a perfect example of newbs with high end markers. Also the day the team with the dm5's bought them they couldn't figure out how to turn them on because then came from brass eagles (all of them). Then they turn the vision off because they were being idiots...even though they couldn't shoot past 10bps. And no one would help them because now they think they are good. Its more of a cool factor for them though. Anyways enough with my story. Fact is you come here bragging about your classic...just because it is made by bob long doesn't make it high end. I could personaly kill you on a 1v1. And ill even use someones 98c to show you the point. I get a free clinic every week i play from my cousin....Cody Szmik (from dynasty) and a lot of the time Drew Hire (from Infamous plays also)...We play at a private field.I normally play with them every week codys not in SD with dynasty, normally like 10 of us. Its obvious you think you could take everyone on here. And im sure a lot of people on here that you are calling newbs could roll you. Grow up and have a nice day. ------------- TPA Revolution!
