Anyone know the easiest way for me to mount my co2 tank from my custom 98 straight up and down from the middle hole on the marker that the braided hose goes into?

The only thing I can think of.

Ben Tippmann makes soemthing similar to that. It's not vertical, but close to it.

You have to buy the vertical adapter. Hybred gave the link above. Install that and then all you have to do is screw your tank into there.

I set up the vertical adapter on my 98 back in the day. I had a huge 32 oz CO2 tank - I can only find 20 oz now.

Just consider that if your tank is to long you will have the same problem I discovered. You cannot lay down prone as well, the tank will hold your marker off the ground. With standiing or crouching it helps the balance and gives you something to hold on to (although slippery when wet unless you wrap it).

Maybe you should also check into drop forwards or remote lines before buying the vert adapter. I use a drop forward now on my A5 - it is so heavy, but I don't mind.

Why, I would love to have that on my 98. It would shorten your guns overall length.

It also helps balance it more and keeps liquid c02 from ever entering the marker.

However, you now will have a direct feed from co2 tank to your bolt assembly. If you fire too quikly or you play in cold weather you will have HUGE problems.

I run remote, and I got used to the cable. It lightens your gun considerably, and makes it easier to place more diverse shots.

Go for a stubby tank when you go vertical. You will have no problems.

just get a remote dont waste you time in getting a verticle tank i had a friend who did that and banged his tank against a rock and punctured it so i wouldent recomend the vertical tank

Ok the guy wants to go vertical and everyone is giving him other options.

He must have banged real hard to puncture the tank. You can do the same thing no matter what position the tank is in.

As mentioned above to go vertical will help prevent liquid CO2 to go into your gun, will balance out the gun better and make it more compact. He can get a 16oz stubby tank. they are short. A 20oz is way to thick to go vertical. You can always pick up a couple of 9oz's. 9oz tanks are nice and thin and cheap.

All you need is this . I doubt if you can make one yourself.

I'd rather not have my tank in the middle of the gun.  By the way the verticle adaptar is where you can put the tank where the foregrip is.  It's not where the hose goes into the gun.  Anyway, I'd just get a good 4+1 Harness and a remote line.  Then it takes the weight off of the gun, and puts it on your back/waist.  Overall I think it's a better choice then a verticle adaptar.

go remotee it really is alot better you dont have that extra weight on the back of the gun wich can be a pain but if you do use youre gun a few times before a game because the remote takes a bit of getting used to

thanks killgore

what kind of fore grip do i eed to put that in?

Posted By: Killgore
Date Posted: 13 June 2005 at 10:31pm
None. The tank will screw right into where your foregrip is. Here is a pic of basicaly what your gun will look like with your tank in a vertical position. Sorry for the bad photoshopping.

That adapter does have something to puish the tank's pin down right?

Cuz you could make your a-5 verticle but there is nothing to push the pin down.

I think there is on that adapter but i am not sure.

Thats odd for the A-5 shouldn't you just have to remove the gas line and screw the tank right into where you removed the line?????

I'll check but i didn't think there was kind of "rod" to push the pin down.

I could be wrong, but i will check.

Edit: Argh, a combination of humidity and teflon tape prevented me from removing my expansion chamber.

I'll try again later.

Are you talking about this part?

https://www.countypaintball.com/product_description.asp?item=2956 - Link

Thats just to move a reg, x-chamber or co2 bottle to where the front grip is.

no no no, i am talking about the part that comes with the gun, where the stock hose runs and where you can put an x-chamber or reg

i could be wrong though i just haven't looked at that for a while

but this is about the 98 custom not the a-5 so i don't mean to hijack the thread

u screw the tank right into the foregrip and it wrks like if it was like b4 when it was mounted under the grip.

or be cheap and just unscrew the mount form grip and let it hang
