W. The name, double u. Well, its more like a doube v ( vv ) than a double u ( uu). Just something i noticed. |

I find it odd that for all other letters we have a sounds, but W
actually has a word in its name. But letters make up words, so how
could a word descibe a letter? Im pretty sure the universe would explode if there was a "W" in the word "double" -------------

The reason it is called "double U" is becuase it is an ancient latin letter, and in ancient latin the "U" looked like a "V." So the "W" is a combonation of two ancient latin "U's." Anyone taking latin in school should be able to tell you this. -------------  Join the XP Re-Revolution!
