Are the scratches inside the barrel? Look inside the barrel make sure it still smooth. Your barrel should be fine as long as the scratches are external they are just cosmetic.

Ops Gear has a really nice selection of after market parts.

As for buying stock parts...I'm really not sure.  I had to get a snap ring and end cap last week as the snapring that came with my gun wasn't the same snap ring that was in the manual; end result is the end cap blew off in my face.  I had to order the parts from Tippmann...Warranty covered it of course!

But your local hardware store should carry most things.

Hope this helps!

Chris.

nah, forget opsgear, damn spammers.

Aftermarket parts for the A-5 can be found on just about any paintball site.

well then try it out and then if it seems to be defective contact the place you bought it from and asked to exchange it for another.

If its very close to the front of it, theres nothing to worry about. It sounds like the scratches may have been caused by the front bolt (if you used it). Shouldnt affect anything.

Try using the barrel for a while, and if a problem appears, return it and get a new one. If not, keep the current barrel.
