What was Qui-Gons last name? You know in Star Wars Episode
1. He got killed by Dark Maul. In Episode 2 it says Master
Siphadeiz ordered the clone army. Does Qui-Gon=Master
Siphadeiz? I was wondering this because in Star Wars time Episode
1 and 2 are 10 years apart. But Obi-Won says Master Siphadiez
ordered this after he was died, but in Episode 3 at the end they said
Qui-Gon was immortal. So yeah. I was a little confused by
this. I bet you're a little confused.

I don't think it says Qui gon is immortal. I think it says he is
amazing. He is amazing to enough to do what Obi Wan does in either 4,
5, or 6 when Anakin talks to him.

Qui-Gon jin is immortal. He teaches Obi-Won how to be immortal. Thats why Obi-Won is able to talk to Luke.
Thats why he let Darth Vader hit him with Vader's lightsaber because he
didn't want to stall Luke, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Leah from escaping
the empire's ship. After he was hit by the lightsaber from Darth
Vader he disapeared and Vader even knew he was immortal. Thats
why he felt Obi-Wons cloak with his foot after he disapeared.

Aren't Jedi supposed to be selfless anyway? hmm...
I dunno I think Syfadias (sp) is just some random jedi they put into the movie to make the whole story line flow... you don't actually see him.
And if Qui Gon gets imortal and teaches Obi Wan, howcome Qui Gon gets stabbed and Obi Wan just dissappears...?
oh well just cause of the technology and special effects I guess...

Master Siphodius (sp?) was a Jedi Master who died prior to the events

the clone army. It was really either Darth Sidious or one of his agents

Qui-Gon was the first to be a "Force Ghost" and he gained that power after he had crossed over to the other side. Obi-Wan and Yoda learned how (from Qui-Gon) while they were still alive.
And yeah it was just a plot device to explain away why all the Jedi couldn't do it.

Like what?
Edit: See the reason i dont think they were writen all in a row 1-9 is mainly because, episode 4 5 and 6 were all kinda dark. People got tortured, people died. Then you go to episode one. And the thing is about Pod racing and some flitsy kid. The movie was for 6 year olds. And that idiot jar jar. When i saw episode one. The basic story arc has been around since at least the 70's. As kids we
all knew the overall story. You are right about the actual scripts
though. Those were "written" as each movie came out.
Regarding the Epsiode I stupidity...Lucas was trying to convey a
"feeling" of the Good Old Days of the Republic. So things were cutsey
to counterbalance the Darker days of the Empire. It was a bad bad idea.

Well according to what I've absorbed the whole reasoning for Lucas for making the movies out of order was because he "doesn't like making beginnings".
The things you have to consider is that the timespan from when Star Wars movies first came out and today is that there is about a 30 year gap (real life) and the technology that we have now is a lot better, not to mention the mentality of people today as compared to earlier years.
Have you ever noticed how nowdays movies usually always try to force in humorous lines into a script in many situations where normally they wouldn't be funny? That kind of shows why the newer movies have a bit of a lighter side to them rather then its original trilogy.
That is interesting though, I never thought about Master Syphadias until DBibeau mentioned that, except I would think it would be Count Dooku rather than Sidious, that just makes more sense in my mind.

Lucas said himself that 4,5,6 were better than 1,2,3. Thats the reason
why he did 4-6 first, because it would selll better. If The phaton
menace came out first, i doubt any studios would fund any other star
war movies.

Yeah I know that Dookus Sith name is Tyranis, but that's what I'm getting at, possibly his Jedi name was Syphadias, just a thought...
^and to whoever said that they will redo the 1st trilogy, I highly doubt that... except maybe digitally remastering it i guess, but if they tryed fiddling with it I would predict a lot of people would get angry because then it wouldn't be the original anymore and it would just be stupid, that's my thought anyway.
Why fix something that doesn't need to be fixed... the Star Wars of old isn't what today's standards would be considered "state of the art" such as episode III is but there's no reason to touch it so I say let it be.

ok. Sifo-Dyas died before Epsiode I. In Episode II Obi-Wan says that Sifo-Dyas ordered the creation of the clone army but then says he was under the impression that he had died before that. Yoda then replies that its scary and he will think on it. Dont forget Jango Fett says that he was recruiter by a man called Tyrannus. Tyrannus is Count Dooku. I dont think Dooku is Sifo-Dyas. because he is known by all as Dooku and no one ever mentioned him as Sifo-Dyas. Yoda would have definatly mentioned that if they were the same. Dooku was his Jedi name most likely, and Tyrannus was his Sith name. So in my conclusion I believe the only person who had the ability to delete something from the archives would be Dooku as he was a Jedi who left. I believe he was one of the 22 or 21 lost Jedi. Jedi who left the order. He than pretended to be Sifo-Dyas ordered the troops got Jango, had them created then started plans for the creation of the Separatist Droid Army. Palpatine was a genius.he had one heck of a plan eh?

Yes. In 2007 they will be releasing the original three in a 3-D special edition (again) format. They wont have the blank backgrounds. it will be all episdoe three backgrouding. i am still sad that removed the original vader (sebastian shaw) and put in haiden for the ghost scene in episode VI

So basically he would be the Syphadias that we know if we could place a name and a face...
I'm not saying that he actually is him but as you said pretended to be him, anyway it makes it better having someone as Syphadias instead of "yeah Syphadias was a Jedi... yeah he died... ummm.... yeah"

What was Qui-Gons last name? You know in Star Wars Episode 1. He got killed by Dark (should be darth) Maul. In Episode 2 it says Master Siphadeiz ordered the clone army. Does Qui-Gon=Master Siphadeiz? I was wondering this because in Star Wars time Episode 1 and 2 are 10 years apart. But Obi-Won says Master Siphadiez ordered this after he was died, but in Episode 3 at the end they said Qui-Gon was immortal. So yeah. I was a little confused by this. I bet you're a little confused.

Im not sure if this has been fully cleared up or not because I was too lazy to read past page 1. Qui-Gon Jin was not immortal nor was Yoda and Obi-Won. At the end of Episode III, Yoda tells Obi-Won he has more training for him. When Obi asks what training Yoda replies that an old friend has journied to the nether world of the force and learned of a way to come back. He is however still very much dead, he can simply communicate with that of the living. As for the Master Jedi who ordered the Clone army, it was a completely different person that Qui-Gon Or Dooku. Its like In Episode III when Mace Windu is talking to Yoda and Obi-Won about not trusting Anakin, Yoda mentions something about a former Jedi who fit the description of the "chosen one" but turned to the darkside. So I dont remember who said it, but whoever said Master Syph(forgot the rest) was a rondom name thrown in is correct. You have to remember that there were hundreds of Jedi before the Empire destroyed them. I hope my nerdyness has helped eveyone better understand the looser side of these forums...... thank you and have a good day.

Lucas said himself that 4,5,6 were better than 1,2,3. Thats the reason why he did 4-6 first, because it would selll better. If The phaton menace came out first, i doubt any studios would fund any other star war movies.
| Where did he say that? | Actually Lucas said that he made 4-6 because they were the cheapest to make and 1-3 would have been impossible to make with what little capital he had and the horrible special effects available.

Of course he is immortal, just because his body is dead, doesnt mean he isnt still living. His soul or whatever.

Yeah, technically it's referred to as "comic relief." American filmmaking has completely raped the concept, I'm afraid to say.

I know, there used to be a time where comedy reliefe was timed correctly and used sparingly. Now, its really really abused, kinda like the middle stepchild. It sucks.

Lets see where to begin.. Anyone remember when Anakin is at the lightshow with the emperor and the emperor tells him about the very powerful sith lord? He says there was a sith Lord so powerful he could save people from dying and he even convinced the mandalorians (the people who made the clone army) to clone an army. The emperor then goes on to hint that he was an apprentice to this sith lord. The emperor says "oddly enough he could save people from dying, but he couldn't save himself. His apprentice killed him in his sleep"
Therefore after having way to much free time on my hands and analyzing this, Darth Sidious' (the emperor) master ordered the clone armies built for the republic. As to why... who knows
