I have owned three of the five and can tell you that the "Hemi" is 426ci not 440ci. In any case, why limit yourself to just one?

Hemi Cuda is sweet. I'm more of a 1967 guy. I love the 1967 Chevelle SS's. I also like the 1967 Chevy Camaro RS/SS, SS, RS, or just the regular Camaro.

No 440 HEMI. The 426 came in two version-street and racing. You could get it in similar variations, but those were basically the two. The race was never rated, but the rating on the street HEMI was wrong-they rated it at 425 HP and it actually ran about 500 HP. If they did build a 440 HEMI, it wasn't production in the years of the 'Cuda. BTW, you didn't specify years on any of those cars-that would probably get you more votes.

This I know. I have a '71 Challenger R\T with a 440, and race a '72 Cuda' 340. And though I am partial to Mopar's, I love the cars. As long as it works it's still good no matter your personal preferance.

these are mucle cars.....
and it all depends on the year for me, but if it wer a 1971 426 hemi 'cuda that would probly be my first choice and then probly the 442 olds if it wer a 1970 cutlass.....the 2 car companies that just couldnt make it........
and it was the 440 MAX Wedge(the name "Wedge" was due to the fact of Wedge shaped combustion chambers im pretty sure).....and obiously the 426 Hemi(the name "Hemi" was due to the fact of hemispherical combustion chambers)....but im sure i dont have to tell you that......

The 'wedge' was a racing thing in the sixties and refers to the shape of the block, even though it was the same shape as all the other V8's on the market. All the manufacturers has special names attached to their products to increase their appeal. Like the Pontiac Tri-power and the Dodge Six-pak, were a discription of three, two barrel carburators. Now, does anyone know what the auto maker first used a hemi engine?

i love them all! i'd prefer a '70 2+2 'Stang though. My 1st car is gonna be a Grand Marquis Police Intercepter. I know, kinda lame, but i can't resist a V8!
