ive been playing paintball for many years, but never really upgraded my m-98. I finally decided on the flat-line, however, my buddy says it is a waste of money. he says i would be just as good with a j&j. he told me that it wont work if its even slightly humid outside, it is easily dislodged, and inaccurate. i find it hard to believe that tippmann would manufacture a piece of crap like hes explaing it is. well, anyone who has one, let me know what u think, in your own opinion, about the flatline.

The success of the Flatline is purely dependent on the paint you use. If it matches the bore well, then the Flatline will give you trouble free service and accuracy. Easily dislodged? Piff. Slap that guy upside the head.

if you search for this topic your gonna find the same same thing on every page. 3 out of 10 people think its the worst barrel ever made- from the 3 theres most likely 2 that have actuelly used one and from them 2 i bet theres only one that has installed it right and used decent paint..... bottom line hook it up right use good small bore paint like marbs or mid evil or something like that and its a good shooting barrel the only honest problem is it can be annoyinh to take on and off

If you want range, but little accuracy go for it.  If you want the same range as everyone else, but be more accurate get a 12" J+J Ceramic.  You'll need to find a good paint to barrel match anyway.  Here's an easy way to tell that it matches good:

1. Put paintball in barrel.  If it rolls through get a bigger ball.  If it doesn't go in at all get a smaller ball.

2. Cover all the holes on your barrel.

3. Blow the paintball out.  It should come out that easy, but stay in the barrel when just placing it in.
