Anyone hear what Amnesty International is doing?

A Private in the US army, THE US ARMY, went AWOL like a little baby and ran to canada.

The army demanded canada send him back, and canada 100% agreed.

HOWEVER, AI decided to take up the case for the guy, labeling him a "Prisoner of Consience", starting an appeal that can takes several years.

Am I the only one that thinks AI is overstepping their bounds?

Let him run off, half of Canada is draft dodgers that left during Vietnam
anyways. Besides, once he sets foot back on American soil, he will be
found, arrested and thrown in the brig.

Anyway, gotta hate them.

One thing to fight for POW's right

another thing to interfere with oficial military courtmartials, which they aren't allowed to do. JAG is there for courtmartials

Bugg is right, JAG is a real military thing, but the show glamorizes it. JAG
people are actually crusty old military lawyers. Just like CSI is a real cop

Heck yes they are. This is my 3rd time going through all 5 seasons. I just need to get ahold of the final episodes of season six of Sex and the City. That was a good show too.

Oz was great! Lots of Man on Man loving. I am also trying to get ahold of the Q.ueer as Folk seasons.

Since when is that word editted?

I bet you like stuffing crusty old people...

Pervs!

Anyways, I agree that AI is overstepping their boundaries, and that they should have no say in it at all.

And to "half of Canada is draft dodgers that left during Vietnam": I know no one, and never have known anyone who came here for that reason. Although I am aware of a high number of draft dodgers' presence in Canada, it is still a relatively small number. I could be offended by this statement, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were over-exaggerating... times 10.

Oh and I think the only exception for going "AWOL" would be Shell Shock/Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which has been proven to cause serious medical implications, like blacking out. The number was something like 1 in every 5 soldiers have it. Yet I somehow doubt the guy was.

To be honest, AI and the ACLU are always overstepping their boundaries,
but they are a necessary evil. When Big Brother messes up, they are there
to keep things in check, even if they are a bunch of liberal communist
pinkos.

And yes, PTSD is a disorder (hence name) but, this guy has full awareness of hwta he did/is doing, otherwise he wouldn't tyr and live there for the past year

I will stick to The Shield. Possibly one of the best dramas on television. However, I have used my TiVo to tape the series "Lost" to watch it all over. I am pretty disappointed at how the Discovery channel is dumbing down their programming with the biker show and Monster Garage. And I really hate how I watch those shows every time they're on, because I love watching that big guy cuss at his kids. I feel like a Jerry Springer intellectual and need a shower afterwards.

I'm obsessed with Mythbusters.

Such a great show too.

Well, it is kinda dissapointing me latley. Its been more about build challanges than actually testing the myths. Still good though.

Yeah like, the new one is about little jetpacks.

Where's the myth?

I think the best one ever was the Legend of the Smelly Car.

Wrong place for it.....if it ain't "teh rockzorz 1337 OMG lol", or something that's been posted a million times already, or a flamable topic, or something to annoy the mods, it's going to get trashed.....

Just a quiet observation.

They used to shoot deserters....

On topic I guess?....They still should shoot deserters.

The Shield is a great show, but now it seems like it's going to be all reruns because they didn't kill Shane. I wish they did.

Over There looks like it is going to be great.

The Wire is like the best HBO show ever.
