We went paintballing today and my friends tippman 98 custom with all stock everthing was not shooting the balls out of the barrel, the balls would go just halfway threw the stock barrel (which is a piece of crap) and stop, the velocity was around 280 and i have no idea what the problem is. this has never happened to my 98 (with flatline). Anyone kno what the problem is?

was his tank full? sometime when i shoot to fast and keep shooting balls get stuck in the barrel instead of breaking. also if you live up in the northeast like i do it has been hot enough to fry an egg on the ground. perhaps your buddies ball expanded do to heat. There is also the possibility of a bad case of paint.

Its the balls. Most walmart paint is crappy large-bore, so Im not surprised. That and the barrel is very rough inside.

Yeah it is probably the paint.  You might want to look into better paint and a new barrel.

Good Luck.

I had same problem with my stock barrel -- THE PAINT IS TOO BIG FOR THE BARREL. TRY MARBALIZERS OR EVIL. tHEY ARE A LITTLE BIT MORE  COSTLY PER CASE BUT THEY ARE WELL WORTH IT.
