A 38 year-old woman had a seizure in my arms. Here's the story. I was at my regular job (Grocery store) and I was outside getting the carts. As I was in one of the coralles getting the carts a woman came stumbling towards me, right away I just assume she is drunk, and wants a cart. As she gets closer to me I see this woman is in no shape to be going into the store....however, that isn't even what she wants. She wants me to "protect" her, and as I ask from what I see she has a couple of bruises on her arms(austomatically made me suspect she was in an abusive relationship). But that's not all of it either, she was insanely drunk as I presumed, and as I continued to inspect her I see a hole in her forearm, it appeared to be a hole from a saringe, I thought great, a herione addict. I then go on to ask her if she's okay, which she obviously is not. I can only hear faint mumbles of how she just got out of the hospital for pneumonia, something about drugs,and something about not wanting her boyfriend near her. Suddenly she grabs my arm, and starts kind of shaking, at this point I realize she is having a seizure, her eyes are rolling around and she doesn't respond to anything, her mouth is also kind of foamy. So, while she has this death grip on me I pull out my cell phone and call 911. I ensure her that everything is going to be alright, however at this point a lot of things were going through my mind, I do not obtain high medical knowledge and I don't want this woman to die in my arms. When the 911 operator picked up I told her what is going on and where I am at. I then call the service desk and ask a manager to come out and assist me( they have no idea what is going on yet). About 30 seconds after calling the ambulance her boyfriend comes out. At this point I don't want him anywhere near her, and to make the matter worse he actually tried telling me that she is "o.k." and attempted to take her away. I told him to go stand over by his car, and wait for the ambulance to come and help her, because I was not letting her go with him. At first I expected him to yell/fight/argue, but I think he understood my tone and the seriousness and let me try to comfort her(since he was the last thing she wanted near her, some how I think he knew this). I keep on hearing these mumbles about drugs and hating her boyfriend. Now even though she has one of those lives where most people just don't care about them, I want to help, I know people can change their lives around, I feel obligated to get the police involved in this( my manager also agrees with this). So she calls dispatch and when they get there they ask me what she was saying, and so on. They didn't arrest her boyfriend, but they took him up to the hospital for her tests, which is all I know. So, after that crazy event I have no idea how she is doing or what happened to her and if her boyfriend was arrested. All I know is at this point I did what I could and what I thought was right. Not the ordinary day at a grocery store, but things like this can be real eye-openers to the real world, and the flaws within it. I could only hope her life turns out for the best, and that she is alright. How'd your days at work go? |

Wow, that is crazy. The first person who makes a coment about that going to be me in a few years.... I will hate you for ever and ever and ever and ever. Oh, and I don't have a regular job. |

I second that motion. My day, well, it sucked. Got pumped to play paintball, drove 40 miles to my field. Get there, and they have a tourney going on all this weekend. No Reccers like me can play on any of the other "non tourney" fields. Rar. So, I drove the forty miles back home. Maybe next weekend. Dom= |

I wasn't at work but I was eating dinner with friends and an incident where 8 squad cars pulled up and put a friend of my friends in the back seat of his patrol car and cuffed him. It makes for a rather amusing story trust me. -------------
